Quote: The Trip "Total shambles,I have said this before I hope the rest of the RL family take up the mantle as we have, to have this process questioned. That was as emotional as any of the survival games against Salford and Cas but had absolutely nothing to do with what happens on the pitch.
The thing is we are in by default because the Crusaders pulled out.
So can the RFL answer these questions;
Why didn't their franchise appraisal's (that were undertaken by outside agencies,Savilles and KPMG) not flag up the lack of funding in place at the Crusaders? Why were the players not being paid?
Why was there no stock in the club's shop? etc etc.
Funny everyone else knew because you could read it on the clubs forum site.
But in reality they knew, but in the name of expansion to North Cheshire it was decided to plough on and ignore the advice from Savilles and KPMG. It is said that up until yesterday they were still trying to attract backers. This MUST have been with the knowledge of the RFL, they were touting around the SL franchise in Wales idea just like 3 years previous.
But they then sit there in front of the media and tell us different, it's corrupt to the core.
It's a disgrace it's a sham and the RFL are the ones that need appraising and heads must roll, starting with Lewis.'"
Well said that man!
The thing that really got on my wick today was the way the whole thing was handled. I was disgusted with the statement from Lewis. The RFL had an opportunity today to show the RL fans the world over that they are not the corrupt bunch of buffoons we believe them to be and what did they do with that chance?
They continued in the same vein as they have for the last 10 years (at least) and to show a complete and total lack of respect for the average RL fan.
Lewis could have stated that the strongest 14 applications made for the 14 licences, but no he implied, or let fans believe, call it whatever you want, that Crusaders would have made it if they had kept their mouths shut. The fans suffer the fallout of his choice of divisive words, yet again. Look at how upset Fax fans are (with some justification too) and the arguments that result now between Fax and Wakey. The RFL have killed the community/family feeling between RL fans. Wakey and Cas fans have been at each others throats, literally, for a couple of years now; why? Because of the divisive agenda spouted by the RFL. They want us to hate each other and pull each other apart because it makes their job easier. I hate them and will never forgive them for destroying the game I grew up with.
