We just used to call it 'the chippy van' - I don't remember if it had an actual name, but I do recall that it was a kind of maroon colour and served the best chips going.

I remember the fish n chip van but I think he's referring to the van that sold fresh fillets of fish and I'm almost there with the name I think.
