Quote: vastman "No he's not alone, however losing games is acceptable, losing by 70 suggests things have gone too far. This team is better than that.'"

Indeed. We all knew this team would lose far more than they would win, that was a given. I suspect most fans can stomach a loss. Losing by 50 odd points to an on fire Warrington, St Helens or Wigan is something as supporters we can reason with, however disappointed we feel. Losing by 20 odd points to a team in 12th position, 30 odd points to a team in 8th, and 50 odd points to a team in 11th is much harder to accept, notwithstanding the absolute dire tactics the current team are employing, which leads to speculation the current set of players are not able to play anything more than 5 drives and a kick, which frankly, I think they would find insulting, particularly the ones who have come through the Wigan and St Helens academies.

Quote: TRB "What I do now believe is that we have removed any remaining obstacles in the way of the RFL having us removed from SL by 1, performing so poorly as to not even compete (how does that benefit the game at all?) and 2, by signing poor, over the hill overseas players and removing the one reason that would have allowed to get away with our poor performances - namely that we were investing in game time in a new generation of home-grown players.

I believe that in the above we have signed our own death warrant!
I don't agree - that seems to be to a rather dramatic sentiment; the RFL will not make a decision to remove us from SL because of the signing of Jarrad Hickey and Semi Tadulala. The Red Hall bods may not command much respect amongst the RL public (myself included) but even they wouldn't want a club owner to bankrupt himself for the sake of making expensive signings within months of the franchise decision.

We're spinning plates until July and the RFL know that.

Really? We are lucky there were still any obstacles to be removed in all honesty. Despite hitting administration at the very start of the season, despite picking up players who couldn't get a game anywhere else in Super League we have still managed to put a few points on the board and are still not at the bottom of the pile. I reckon that says more about our ability to 'compete' than anything else. Given the number of young British players in our squad/team I'm sure we can be forgiven a couple of dodgy overseas signings most teams have at least that many.

If the death warrant has indeed already been signed it was signed long before the above happened.

Oh I don't doubt that the grave was dug by others as it turned out.
