| Quote Fordy="Fordy"Will you still feel like this if next weeks announcement is that Steve Parkin is coming on board and we are likely to grounshare with a Football team??
As much as Hudds are not my favourite team this is just a ridiculous argument to start....'"
Not at all. My point is that Rugby League clubs that share football stadiums are treated as second rate. Do you honestly think that the owners would have done this in the middle of the football season and sent Hudds Town to play at Halifax for 3 fixtures. NO.

Relaying the pitch in December/January probably wouldn't be a good idea anyway.

Your answer was here all along
Quote CAT TRICK="RebelRebel"Things like grass and stuff do tend to grow better/faster in the Spring and Summer than at other times of the year, so whilst we could look at the wider implications for the sport, we could also just accept that it's all down to grass growing when it grows best... i.e. now.'"

Thats why a pro rugby team is`nt playing there

Football will always be king in this country, so you just have to accept that if you share with one. I'd rather share a great stadium and maybe have this problem once in a blue moon (and in the years they've played there, how many times has this happened, and to Wigan and Hull as well), rather than have a poor stadium week in, week out.

15 years sorry not 17.
It’s an updated version of the original Desso Grassmaster surface used by both the football club and the Giants, and Kirklees Stadium Development Ltd managing director Gareth Davies says the £700,000-plus project will put it up with the best in the country.
An all-weather strip identical to that at Liverpool’s famous Anfield ground will also be laid alongside the pitch on the Direct Golf Stand side, providing a running surface which can be used all year round.
“The first Desso pitch, laid 15 years ago, was then at the forefront of technology,” explained Davies.
“But all forms of technology inevitably move on and now we are laying a surface which is right back at the forefront of pitch technology.
“The beauty of Desso Grassmaster is that it is essentially a natural grass pitch with plastic fibres interwoven into the surface to give it greater durability.
“In fact the pitch being laid is identical to that in place at 13 of the 20 Premier League grounds and also at Wembley Stadium.”

| Forget about the grass OK.
MY POINT HERE IS .
If they wanted Take That to perform at the said venue for 3 weeks it would be the same result.
Send the rugby team somewhere else.
Yes we want a nice new stadium and would much rather play in a ground like the galpharm than BV.

But that's a load of tosh. Concerts and the like at sports venues are planned around likely fixture dates - hence why Rod Stewart is at Elland Road in summer, not winter. While the fixtures may not be in stone, Stadium Management have an idea of when matches will be arranged for the forthcoming football and rugby league seasons, so can plan around those, and request 'away' fixtures on dates when other events are planned.
