If Shudds Midgets were playing in my garden i'd pull curtains together.: |
|
| We've got to keep the Wildcats badge for the young supporters. How about Wildcats badge on the left, Fleur De Lys on the right. That keeps all the old ones happy.

And Stevo, tw@ though he may be, always calls us Trinity; although annoyingly, the sentence usually includes the word 'outfit'.

I'm a big fan of 'would be tackler'. That's my favourite.

simpsons/simp019.gif We put this festival on you ba****ds
With whole lotta love
We worked for one year for you pigs
And you wanna break our walls down
And you wanna destroy
Well you go to hell:simpsons/simp019.gif |

| OK, take for example the young kids who play junior RL locally who they play for, you will get answers back such as:
Knights
Wolves
Panthers
Raiders
Dragons
I would be willing to bet that very, very few would tell you they played for Normy, Westgate, Castleford, Oulton or Eastmoor. Like it or not its part and parcel of the game and has to stay in my opinion. Kids expect "their" team to have a nickname and however ill thought out and irrelevent the original name was we have made our bed now and need to lie with it.
You are extremely unlikely to ever stop watching us becuase of the 'Wildcat' branding, but I would be more than confident in saying that you risk loosing letting a fair few slip through the net. Take areas like Normanton for example when we are basically competing for fans, who is more likely to atract the attention of a brand new fan - the team called "Tigers" with its distinct branding and kid freindly marketing or "Trinity" with its funny squiggle that may youngsters will probably struggle to identify.
Simply has to stay for me.

| Quote: Tommy Duckfingers "Maybe this can be turned into a positive then, suggest the club offers more of a range of leisure wear with the old school badge and Trinity branding.
Get somebody to knock together a "retro" or "heritage" range to complement the Wildcats branded gear, old school British Coal shirts, Dreadnoughts Caps, Fleus De Lis T-Shirts etc all with a similar colour scheme so its easily identifyable with the rest of the range but subtely different so those hankering for the good old days can spend their money on them and the kids can go decked out in the Wildcats range.
I'll have some, 3 large T's and a couple of tops.
Every ones a winner.....'"
