| Quote The Clan="The Clan"As I said earlier, it's interesting that Bradford fans want to see this as a weak Wakefield HAVING to release a player rather than Wakefield being in a strong position and having options and choices for a change.'"
proof? I haven't noticed anybody saying this and I don't think that anybody thinks it (If I'm wrong I apologise) Most of the feelings are that you don't need him and we need something! Ideally I think most people would have wanted maybe some world class signing, but it's not going to happen at Bradford anytime soon. It's a sign of the change at the club and the position we find ourselves in.
It is however quite obvious that BJ probably feels you won't be in the Super League next year...we have offered him Super League rugby and possibly slightly more money (though I can't really see it being that much more) and we need a short term fix as the club seem to have no confidence in Briggs and Southernwood so it works for both parties.

| It's a very interesting move this.
Not long back at all, a "big" club could easily have taken any Wakey player they wanted, yet right now Bradford have taken BJ.
Wouldn't you have thought that Bulls would have gone for Wildie if they could have?
Suggests to me that the Wakefield club is seen to offer something in the short, medium and long term and it definitely says we are not a selling club.

| To be honest I would have thought it pretty easy to see why we've let him go - he wasn't getting a game. Bradford offered a good deal and we took it. It has nothing to do with franchises or anything else. He was surplus to requirements and we got something for him.

If he thinks its obvious we wont be in sl next year as you like to put it, why did he sign a 3 year deal which would have taken him one year into the championship?

| Quote steadygetyerboots-on="steadygetyerboots-on"I'm not trolling, nor having a dig at you personally Vasty, but I don't understand this "freeing up cash" sentiment. I thought AG had promised funds for signings without the need to release players and I'm sure I've read quotes from JE that wakey could and would spend up to the salary cap limit. If this is the case I don't understand why wakey would release BJ when there's no financial need? As has been mentioned by several posters on here; BJ is experienced, respected by coaching staff and players alike whilst being emotionally attached to the club too. It all seems a bit strange to me
'"
I'm only guessing mate, don't get me wrong I'm as surprised as anyone that BJ is being shipped out. Assuming they were looking at Eastmond and are still looking for similar then BJ would be surplus to requirement and thus a drain I suppose. Even if we have the money to keep BJ I don't see the point in doing it just because we can so that's fair enough. Believe me where spending serious money is concerned the jury is still definitely out on Andrew Glover for me. I certainly expect to see him replaced with similar or better or more needed or it will be hard for even his most ardent supporters to explain away. As you say it's a strange one but for now I think it's fair to credit them with a sensible motive.

Not really no, he's a good little player but I wouldn't think for one second he offers Bradford what BJ can - certainly in the short term,

| Mate of mine, a Cas fan, says that Ryan McGoldrick told him he has signed a contract with Wakey prob why they've allowed Jeffries to leave then.

That would be the assumption IF Bulls were looking for a short term fix, but they have given BJ 18 months.
If Bulls are building, they go for Wildie...if they are looking short term (or panicking), they go for BJ.
There is little sense in what they have done; don't they have their own junior production line? Conversely, can't they attrct a big name, proven, marquee player?
BJ on 18 months has no logic. It's not like they need to worry about licensing.

| Think he's either winding u up or mcgolrick was winding him up. Mcgoldricks just got back in the cas side and there were reports he was set to sign a new deal at cas.
