Don't know about shot down...90% of the RL world would agree with you. The whole licence process is a farce. As any decision is totally at the RL's discretion and cannot be challenged, the decision as to who is in and who is out will depend upon the RFL's and Sky's whims and fantasies.

The franchise system is IMO 100% bent, i think if challenged it would not stand up in a court of law, neither would the clause barring clubs from legally pursuing the RFL (should it exist).
