| To be honest, Vowles when got MoS he was the stand out player no doubt.
He was fantastic for Castleford.
He wasn't necessarily a legend of the game as a whole, but that year, he was the stand out performer, so deserved his award.
It is only the same as when JD was nominated. He was magnificent for us that year and was a standout across all teams but would not be mentioned in the same light as Hanley or Edwards over the years.

| As mentioned before 'legend' became meaningless as soon as Korkidas or players of his level are tagged with it. You now need some kind of 'super legend' tag for those who deserve it, whether at club level or in the sport as a whole.
If you get in an All Time Greats side, or even squad, then you deserve the tag. I wasn't around to see the great team of 58-68, but you'd be a fool to not to read up and learn about those from 1873 onwards who deserve the tag and those who don't.

| IT would be difficult to pick a past player who had been anything near a legend for both Cas and Wakefield. We both tend to pass rejects across the divide.
Suppose Brad Davies had good spells at both clubs? Geoff Wraith?

You have a point. There are plenty who have played for both but not many who have been great players for both.

He was good for Cas but isn't liked there.
I should have added who is well liked by both sets of fans as well. Willie Poaching would be an example of this with us and Leeds.
