I think we are judging the kid a bit too early. Don't forget he's only really been playing 1st grade rugby for a couple of years still. His potential was all to be seen at Wakefield where he came from out of nowhere to the 1st team basically due to his physical and technical ability. His move to Leeds was always going to happen if Leeds saw a future for him. What has surprised me is that previous Leeds coaching staff saw other players higher up the list or there skill set fitted better than Jay's. I think you will now see BM giving him more game time (due to injuries as well) and you will see a big improvement this and next season. Give the lad a chance and he will take it, he did at Wakefield and he did when i coached him as a junior for over 4 seasons when i saw the early potential in him.
