As i thought alot of people on here who was hyping this game up would slag the team off if the result went the wrong way..credit to GET EM ON SIDE REF,WAKEFIELD NO1 FAN and a few more for sticking behind the team no matter what the result was (which is what we need this year). Very hard conditions today and well done wakefield for putting in 100%. Was very dissapointed with alot wakey fans walking out with 20 minutes to go. Least you could do is clap them off so they have something to fight for... at times id rather 5000 proper wakey fans turn up and support win or lose rather than 6500 turn up to moan about how we play and walk out before the games over. Play the game first then say its easy to play in these conditions and under this amount of preasure... WELL DONE WAKEY HEADS UP

Yep far too much this last week imo.

Unrealistic to expect this squad not to struggle most weeks, i hope those who want pride and effort stick with that view.

one thought.................in hindsight was this the right game to do the 10 quid deal??

Need a couple of experienced players,morro,rinaldi and korki the only seasoned players.Thought johnson,mariano and lee all showed a bit of promise.Was disappointed with smith but as been said before it was his first game and was rusty and will maybe come good.One thing is for sure it is going to be a long,hard season and need more atmosphere at BV to keep the lads going.

Have to disagree over Lee, some of his passing was awful.

Apparantly woke up with a swolen ankle which prevented him playing. Thats why Gledhill played 2 games in 2 days.

Kicking game was ok.Also was trying to do it all himself cos smith was practically non existent.

Can't fault the effort (although we started the game poorly letting them in in the first set of six), but as has been siad, they had two decent half backs running at the defensive line, with runners coming on at pace and being given the ball after the tackler had been drawn in.

To be fair, running it in hard and looking to draw a man before you pass are pretty basic facets of the game and therefore should be capable of being executed by the players we have. Some of the passing today was woeful.

Smith clearly was rusty and I think it would have been better for him to have had some game time in the reserves and maybe given Harvey a run out.

Only other complaint was, why on earth did we keep kicking early in the tackle count in the first half when we had a bit of pressure in there 25?

If we'd won 32-6 and the sun had shone then yes it would have been the right game, in hindsight maybe not.

I don't doubt he was trying, and I agree over Smith. I just don't see either of them as our answer, and they're in a key position which could make the difference in gelling together a potentially decent team, as today all I saw was a bunch of young lad trying, but in a really patchy and disorganised way. Too much of that, and heads will drop and that potential will be lost.

I'll try my best to support the likes of Lee and Smith, but I can't claim to be optimistic that either of them will flourish into the role. Talking on the way back to the car after the game, the fear is they are Kear utility players, interchangable at 6/7/9/13, or so we are led to believe, but not really good enough. I can understand why we've ended up with stop gaps again, I just really think the one part of the team worth spending on is a proper scrum half.
