Not sure you're right. Yes they are weird and parochial but I'm told in the 60's we had a large fan base in Barnsley including one Michael Parkinson.
Also in the villages/areas between South Wakefield and Barnley ie Royston the Wildcats seem well represented in terms of shirts and car stickers.
I agree we won't pick up 1000's but we may gain a following who may attend the big games if we return to Newmarket. This is not that different to a number of clubs who's spread out fan base don't attend every game.
