| The reason behind my suggestion for having Neil Fox as our club president was the challenge of securing a franchise for the next 3 years. If you were going to a meeting with the decision makers at Redhall, who would you rather have as a member of your negotiating team,an extra business or marketing man or Neil Fox M.B.E ?

| agree re both. Neil Fox would add weight to the campaign but do feel we need to also get another strong business man / woman on board with sales & marketing background. I understand where people are coming from with regards to giving Andrew Glover time but to be honest with you, time is something we do not now have. The RFL have deadlines and as good as AG is financially I am not 100% convinced that he can do it alone.
I have absolute faith in AG turning this club around and yes I have absolute faith that he will do a much better job than the last regime but with a bigger team around him from different industries then who knows, surely it cant hurt?

If I were in charge of the bid, I'd line up as many Trinity greats as I could at the back of the room during the interview stage, to remind those divots at Red Hall what this game is actually about. A quietly dignified procession of the likes of Neil Fox, Rocky Turner and Harold Poynton might just help them recall that whilst expansionism, fancy stadiums and big money sponsorship might be the future of the game, that future is built on the sweat and toil of historic clubs like Wakefield Trinity.
This is Wakefield - without us, you are weaker.

If I'm interpreting the highlighted gobbledigook correctly, you're misunderstanding me, perhaps wilfully?
I'm fully cognisant of the reality of the situation in respect of the likelihood of us getting a license, but we'd feel let down by our executive officers, would we not, if the best they could manage was an application based on being resigned to failure?
The thread is a discussion about figureheads, talismanic individuals and the merits of involving businessmen and great players. I posted what *I* would do if I were in charge of the bid and having responded to more than a few tenders in my time, I can assure you that even if you think you have no chance of winning, you don't say that.

| Not a buisness man, but what about someone like David Hinchcliffe, life time fan and a little bit of political nous.

| must admit having thought about this i think that to get a business professional along to add weight to the tender would be ideal. if you think about it we have a number of high profile sponsors who support the club, could they not help in anyway? Everyone thought that when Steve Parkin was in the frame he would be great because of his business connections, but hang on a minute, we have som huge businesses who work with us ( some are multi-nationals ) - i bet the RFL would really like to work with these guys in the future?.
Just my opinion but I think we should try to leverage the companies we work with now even more.
But yes, lets get Neil Fox MBE involved more in some way too
