Now that the "old guard" have departed, I assume that includes our invisible President Sir Brian Nicholson.He may have been the chaiman of B.U.P.A, the largest provider of private health insurance in the world with a turnover in excess of £4billion and employing 52000 people worldwide,but I cannot recall him attracting a penny of sponsorship to the club.He was conspicuous by his absence and lack of any visible support during our darkest hours. I suggest that we need a new high profile figurehead for our club! Someone who rose from the working class grass roots of the game and went on to be respected and held in high esteem wherever in the world that Rugby League is played.A member of the Rugby League Hall of Fame and a Freeman of the City of Wakefield,and someone whose timely intervention brought John Kear the club and saved us from relegation.Come on Mr Glover, get down on your knees and ask Neil Fox M.B.E to do us the honour of becoming our new President and giving a boost to our bid for a new franchise and a new ground.It would add to a great occasion at our first home game of the new era if this could be announced as I am sure Neil will as usual lead a parade of our ex players onto the pitch as we pay tribute to the late Don Froggett !
