| Quote vastman="vastman"We are and always have ben Wakefield Trinity, the Wildcats is a marketing brand name.
As a matter of interest the sainted Steve Ferres wanted to drop the Trinity title from the clubs name. Evil Ted said no.
It's a dead debate IMHO.'"
I havn't been postering long but it seems to me that you argue and discredit any other poster's opinion if it is different to your own. I personally think that this topic is a relevant one to debate and doesn't need your childish comments.

| If "wildcats" had been marketed properly from the start we would not be having this debate, IMO it will take off from now on.
Will always be Wakefeild Trinity to me and the "wildcats" should be used only for junior members

IMHO to preserve the Trinity name we must demote the Wildcats to a nickname. Back to a proper badge too. The Wildcats logo can appear elsewhere.'"

Correct, and if a red sox in baseball, or a blue sox in RL can be a marketable brand, then I don't see why a "Trinity" can't be one. You could argue that by abandoning the Trinity label to pander to the modern market, we've actually abandonned the one thing that sets us apart and makes us a unique brand. I didn't have a problem supporting "Trinity" as a kid. I don't see why kids these days would have a problem there either.

| please, please, please for the love of god. get rid of the wildcats moniker. it is heinous, and makes you and everything its associated with (rugby league, obviously) appear completely daft and retarded.

Which is what I would vote for.
Too young to go whole heartedly with Trinity
Too old to go with Wildcats
But if as pointed out, it encourages both the old and young then it will help put Wakey where we want them to be.
