It is though as selling the best players means lowering the value of the club to a potential investor and therefore lowering the amount for creditors. Selling players only benefiting the creditors if a transfer fee is being paid that is more than the value an investor has put on them.
It would be very interesting to see a list of creditors as it seems that we owe more people than just HMRC a bit of money. At the moment the administrators seem to be acting as if this is a liquidation. It would seem that Mr Glovers bid is basically zero, which taking into account redundancy costs and the fact we have no assets and a bleak outlook to make a profit is about right.
