Quote: Liversedge Wildcat "I will support Wakey whatever league they end up in and if the club dies then my love for RL will die with it. I have played and supported this great game since I first went with my Father and Grandfather in 1968 Wakefield are an integral part of my life and now I can no longer play are my only link to rugby league.
All Super League as done is cause animosity between supporters and and uncertainty in the game. The truth is it is Rugby League not now and for what it is worth never will be a national game in my humble opinion. If expansion is what they want then surely Cumbria is the first point of call.I would rather go watch Wakey play Cas,Hudds,Leeds,Bradford and the rest than go to London or France, by all means create a French league and fill it with French players, but how many people can afford to travel to the south of France to watch their team play. I have some great memories of Wakefield and they will always be with me. It is a working class game born in a working class area THAT is the appeal of the game, anyone who says otherwise are deluding themselves.'"
i wasn't old enough then, started going to watch wakey in 1978 and my friends parents took us everywhere..i agree about sky killing the proper game! i also like the catalan trip every year with my son who unfortunately has been a wakey fan since he was 6 and my daughter since 5..after my sons first game against the whinos when we were 48-0 down at half time .. and won the second half 8-6 !! i asked if he wanted to go watch leeds...answer was "no way i am wakey till i die like my dad!" brought a tear to my eye!
