I don't want to get a bad rep, but I feel the need to make a few points.
Quote: Khlav Kalash "All very well, but when you get a tax bill on top of the regular tax bill it becomes a problem so unless you have huge profits or a wealthy benefactor you negotiate with HMRC a plan to pay off the debt. Also the lack of player payment was a technical difficulty rather than a fiscal one.'"
You only get a tax bill a) when you've made a profit and b) the tax bill becomes payable on a recognised due date which is clearly set out in law. We've got this tax bill because we owe the money to HMRC. We as supporters need to understand that the club has not been run particularly well in the past and we are now suffering for this. I think we all have to be realistic and accept if the tax is due it has to be paid otherwise the club will be hit with even more penalties and interest from HMRC which makes our position even worse.
Quote: Khlav Kalash "Why the hell would Geoff Burrow, the players union ( gmb ) chief go running to The Sun telling tales, surely a man in his position should not behave in such a immature, pathetic, irresponsible manner. I hope the club are in contact with his boss as his actions must be a gross misdemeanour. I would be in direct contact with the lawyers and looking to sue. Also should the players be running to their union with such indecent haste ( paid two days late ).'"
I don't think we can blame Geoff Burrow for stating the facts, if our club is in dire financial straights we all have to be man enough to accept this and try and work towards sorting out the issues. The players are no different to the rest of us in that we all have mortgages and bills to pay every month and if our salaries don't go in on the correct day, we all become worried as to whether the money will be received and I'm sure you are in the same position. Remember the players are just trying to protect their own interests via the gmb union.
Sorry to be all doom and gloom, but hopefully we'll get some good news on the 22nd!
