Paul Taylor was a member of the awesome Parramatta side from the early eighties.. and was a full back/ half... had a stlye and look of Peter Sterling
he came to wakefield on the back of being a good pal of Ray Price, ( I was on holiday in Sydney at the time) I remember it being across the back pages of the sydney press that Taylor was following Price to play at Wakefield..
He made his debut against Leeds at home when just a few minutes into the game fell awkwrdly in a tackle and ruptured his cruciate ligament.. a career ending injury. Thats why he went home! The injury and the footage was also shown on prime time news in Australia.
Ged Byrne was a very good signing for the club (a club record i think) and put in some sterling performances from stand off in a pretty ordinary team.
Chris Mortimer is still a revered player here in Sydney and particularly at the BullDogs... again a solid tackling loose... which he did at Wakefeild admirably.
Tracey Lazenby is one of the players I most enjoyed watching in my time as a Trinity fan...
Greg Lennon, another player to suffer injury early in his trinity career, an ankle problem which took yards off of his awesome pace, I couldnt believe we had pulled off the signing of such a high profile player as we were in the lower division at the time, it was a shame that we did not see his best.
sorry to be un-negative..
