We had the security in the fact we got a franchise last time out. Community aside what have we actually done in the three years nothing.

Richardson et al think by asking school kids to rename the club ie WILDCATS ticks all the boxes for Super league and modern Rugby League. Slowly by surely they are eradicating 137 years of history. I am sick of the media, written, tv and radio dropping the name Trinity.

We either market the team club properly or forget about it and do what Hull and Halifax have and returned to their original name. There is nothing wrong with having part of the marketing scheme aimed at kids with an eye catching appealing mascot and associated products. But a cat on my clubs shirt says nothing to me about my team my city.

The fact is we as a club are a joke we do not deserve to be in SL, we have done nothing and slowly but surely we are dying. That is not to say Harlequins, Crusaders or a further French team deaerve to get in before us either.

I think you'll find that one of the reasons that lead to Steve Ferres leaving the club is because he wanted to drop the Trinity name so that we would just be Wakefield Wildcats. Ted (amongst many others) didn't like the idea. I'm not sure whether this was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, but it was definitely one of the big differences between SF & the board.

I agree 100% . We are Wakefield Trinity & our nickname is The Dreadnoughts - end of . What's wrong with that ?! A cartoon cat has not brought thousands ( not even hundreds ) to follow the team and the club has now lost a lot of the identity from the last 100 years + and is now not the household name that it once was . Let's drop the wildcats name asap and promote the club properly at our new home .

has any one actually thought about the cost of removing the wildcats logo from the club, its not as easy as taking them off the shirt and removing it name wise,
for a start where would the blow up cat go to retirement LA have you a home for it

You could drop Wildcats without dropping the logo or Daddy Cool. The Wildcats could be adopted as the nickname, but the club should be called Wakefield Trinity.
