By midweek all the realists will be chased away with shouts of "he kept us up in 1891," "we lost defence genius Brough that's why we concede 36-60 points each week" and "Kear will cost us money if we sack him, let's make do with Runcorn performances and 3,000 crowds"

Wakefield Trinity isn't just a working mens club where you can have a laugh and a drink Sunday aft it's the only decent thing our City has outside of Pugnees.

1 The 'realists' - i.e. those who agree with you.
2 No-one can seriously defend the performance today (although there many who clapped the side from the field).
3 This has been a terrible season but, in fairness, there has been a lot of turmoil and disruption off the field which we must take into account when judging anyone involved.
4 I'm not indicating either way where my thoughts lie.

So, finally we can pull the plug on a season that started so brightly, and ends so pathetically.

After the win against Leeds, so, so long ago, I really thought we were in for a big season, now I’m so glad we haven’t made the play-offs. The way it’s looking, we could have been travelling to Shudds, for another battering.

Ironically, where we finished, wouldn’t make a blind bit of difference to our future, but a least we averaged 8th over the last three years, a vast improvement on our recent history.

I was shot down many a time at the beginning of the season for claiming our squad [iwould[/i win SL.

I wouldn't have mocked you then - although we were always outsiders. But I, like many, believed that the squad we had could have been top 4. We have lost 3 players - which we could have done through injury - so the rest need to accept a huge part of the blame for their 'sulking' throughout the year!

I still think we have a cracking squad TRB (albeit on paper) and when I try and point the finger only Gleeson really springs to mind. 1 player, which isn't bad for any sports side. If I could put my finger on what is the underlying issue for our teams underperforming then I'd be the coach.

I think fundamentally the side need to enjoy their rugby (like we saw when we finally got a comfortable lead against Hull FC) but under Kears tactics fun doesn't come into the equation.

We were devoid in attack (apart from the first 15 mins where we actually looked sharp) poor in defence and massively lacking in confidence.

Once Bradford went 20 - 12 up there was only going to be one winner.

Boring and weak.

Our defence is consistently poor. Kear doesn't know how to address it. When we had Brough we could gloss over it as our attack was strong. Now we've nothing.

Don't forget the Kear to Catalans episode! When Brough went we had a dip in form but I felt our performances were not that bad. After the Catalans approach, things just went down hill a whole lot faster! You get the impression the guy just doesn't want to be here.
