I have also watched since 60s and if the only option to carry on watching top-flight rugby in the area was to merge then I would be fully behind it, as long as the new team identity did not favour any side. Don't get me wrong I would prefer to watch Wakefield in its own right, but if it meant that we were on the sidelines while another team in the area got all the glory then to me its a no-brainer. It might also mean that we the supporters might enjoy a few more games rather than coming home from a match and feeling sick as a parrot again!!

I remember back in the late 80's long before lottery was around,he helped the Theater raise £3/4 million to keep it from closing.

I wouldn't support a merged team either. I'm a Wakefield fan, and as any true fan knows, you don't just change teams. Wakefield till I die.
