I know you mods try to keep things positive and you generally do a sterling job of it, but its the nature of the performances that is the concern not the losses.
I feel you need fresh ideas, not more of the same. The last thing you need to become is a jobs for the boys club (although it is certainly an issue at the moment in my opinion at the club).

| Said it before, Kear has earned the time to sort this out and not just because of six games four years ago. The club are on a different level to what they were before he arrived. We've had three years of steady progression. So this season may end up being a write off. So what. Thats how sport goes sometimes.
The team are well and truely out of form and it's down to Kear to sort it out. You only have to look at last year so see that he can do this. Look at Quins. A few weeks ago they were awful yet they get a few troops back, win a game and appear to be a completely different team.
There were opportunities last night a team with a win or two behind them would've taken and ultimately won the match. However, this team is low on confidence therefore they rush the chances they get making a mess of them. A coach can't make allowances for knock on's, messing up the play of the ball and crazy passes.

| I've said this on more than one occasion and been slagged off for my troubles but "John Kear is a brilliant technical coach, what he is not and never will be is a head coach".
He may be able to inspire a team for a select few games, he appears unable to manage a side consistently throughout a season. When he was No. 2 to Bomber at Hull, we played some of our best rugby, entertaining while still being able to defend well. I even went so far as to tell Bomber that Kear was his best ever signing.
People will point to our 2005 Wembley success but that was simply two great matches. After that we went backwards (and seem to have been going backwards ever since). John needs to have an honest word with himself and accept the fact that Assistant Coach is probably his best position. I never really bought into the "Kear factor" theory but after seeing it unfold in front of my eyes, I'm now a convert.

Saying it does not make it so! He has been in his time but i just get the impression his methods have become dated. His ability to motivate is well documented, but only so many times can the same tricks work and it looks at the moment like he has played all his aces over the last 4 years.

He cant,you are correct.
But he is responsible for our lack of creativity, lack of attacking moves, lack of set plays and dire team selection.
Kear is/was a one trick pony, having the ability to motivate an average group of players into producing above average performances.Unfortunately it appears he no longer has that ability and has nothing else to fall back on.
Are we really on such a different level to where we four years ago?Stadium apart,we are constantly in financial dire straits and continue to sell players to survive.

That is a concern and its one thing Brough in particular was very good at. He could read the game very well and could capitalise on a defence out of position. Obst did to a certain extent with his scoots from dummy half in the 1st 40 last night but as the whole teams performance dropped in the 2nd so did his.
