| I think the style of Rugby right now is a tactical decision to the recent upheavels, keep it tight, compress the middle, kick, try and force an error - because simply we have to go into consolidation while we do a pre-season's work mid-season.
Take the Jeffrie situation now - great player while as a 6 runner off the ruck, play second fiddle to Brough's marshalling and not having to guide the team around the park - but now do you play him 7 again, put the ball in his hands tactically and essentially get the player we booed out of the club a couple of season ago.
Likewise the centre Millard, seems his one asset was to catch the high ball - without a half decent kicker we're now stuck with a powder-puff one trick pony centre.

There might not be prize money, but there is additional gate income. The majority of gate receipts from the playoffs are pooled & then redistributed based on where clubs finish in the various stages of the playoffs.
Aside from the above, success on the pitch drives local interest (& usually number through the turnstiles as a result) which again boosts direct income streams whether it be tickets, merchandise or most importantly sponsorship - after all how many businesses really want to see their names associated with sports teams that perform badly.
As for new ownership of the club all you have to do is ask yourself a very simple question - if you had the money right now to buy the club, would you really make that purchase when so much of the long term future depends on what happens this season? We already have contracts for the existing squad & the availability of players to bring in NOW isn't great either so any investment won't make too much difference this season, so for someone to buy the club now doesn't really make business sense. Similarly it doesn't make sense to buy the club before the franchise decisions are known.
I can't see any change of ownership until the back end of next year at the earliest as any buyer would consider the business practicalities of any purchase. We need to accept the fact that there'll be no changes at board level before then, so we need changes to either the playing or coaching staff (maybe both) from the current board & we need then before it's too late.

| The fact of the matter is, we did our preseason assuming that Brough was our main playmaker and that Newton and Tronc were 2 key men in the pack. All 3 have gone, meaning that we have to start from scratch with different players in key positions.
In addition, we already had a high turnover of players at the end of last season and we are pretty much having to gel a new team together. Since the season bagan we have brought in Cooke, Kirmond, Gledhill etc, none of which were involved in the preseason and they therefore have to get used to our systems.
It will take time for JK and the team to figure out the right formula for the rest of the season and to incorporte the new players and their styles of play. I don't think any coach would have done any better when you consider all of the changes we have had.
I think that they will get there in the end, but it may take a few more games yet!

| Sack Kear and the board and all the players, sorted.
Put the teddies back in the cot and do what fans do, SUPPORT the players (not Latu ) and coaching staff, Give Kear the RESPECT HE'S EARNED and give the bloke a chance to turn things around.
Its tough going for all of us and i'm not happy with some of the players/signings/tatics but WE ALL KNOW BEST DON'T WE.

| to be fair to kear, he has lost a lot of his key players and therefore attacking options,
but.
he has signed almost all the current squad and should be able to work with them.
they competed with hull and dominated the game for long periods, without ever really looking like scoring. it looks to me like everything we do on the field is very ad-lib.
no offloads because there was no one to offload to!
no runners apart from the ball receiver(makes defending very easy)
no recognisable set pieces(after how many years of kear)
very poor kicking game and a lazy chase.
if we need players like DB because they think on their feet, then what exactly is happening on the training field?

| I agree with BIGAL, we have to give Kear time to turn things around it was not long ago he was the messiah and could not do anything wrong. I like the bloke, he talks alot of sense when you hear and see him and you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, however i've said this since the start when he first came to the club, Kear can only take teams to a certain level and can not go beyond that, he lost the dressing rrom at Hull and maybe he has reached that level with us...we will have to wait and see.

| I saw effort and commitment against Hull. We were the dominant side in the game, in terms of possession and territory. We just lacked the final cutting edge near their line, albeit too often. JD summed it up best, that we were just too edgy, and had it not been for Cooke giving Whiting a big gap to run into, we might well have taken the game. I'm nervous about the Rhinos backlash next week, particularly as it is revenge time for them, but we are still in the mix at the half-way point. We were world-beaters a month ago. Now it's sack the coach. Barmy.

| Tactics gave us plenty of field position and sufficient possession to win the game easily. Individual errors resulted in us not taking the opportunity.
Players at fault NOT coach.

I think that's what JK will be telling them at the start of training next week, they played better than they have for a few weeks and there was plenty of positives to take from the game. The forwards were gaining some good yard each drive, getting Trinity into good areas of the pitch where we should of racked the points up.We controlled practically all the possession and to be honest we should have been 20 points up at half time.If the players were playing confidently we should have beat Hull by 30 points and that was using those same tactics that we are all complaining about, all it would of taken is a few kicks and final passes being in the right places.
I think when your in a poor run of form your not going to be playing entertaining rugby, you just have to get back to winning and then the confidence and decent rugby comes off the back of that and I think that is what JK is trying to do.
The team aren't playing with any freedom or expressing themselves and imo that is just down to them feeling the pressure of losing, key players going and their confidence has all but gone.Even with the players we've got once their confidence returns we will be back beating teams and playing some decent stuff again.
