I have just got my election voting form and we live in Kettlethorpe which apparently is in HEMSWORTH constituency?? so where is Wakefield constituency seen as Outwood and Newton Hill for example is in the new Rothwell and Outwood. We are miles and miles from Hemsworth but less than two from the city centre. Whats going on with the world...

Kettlethorpe's been in the Hemsworth constituency for some time though, hasn't it?

Yes its stupid all the Wakefield South ward is part of Hemsworth so places like Agbrigg and sandal castle have to go in the Hemsworth constituency. To make matters worse the Wakefield constituency covers places as far out as denby Dale and Scisset. Parlimentary seats are made up of council wards and they try to get them around a simillar size population wise but they end up with areas that have no significance to anyone.

It is worth logging on to the BBC election section of their website. It shows and tells you exactly which council wards are in which new constituencies.

Ok, if you want to see the council wards (which are named and numbered) then you need to go to the Wakefield Council website.

At least your constituency does not now cross two council boundaries like the new Morley and Outwood constituency.

PS. Outwood and Newton Hill are in the new Morley and Outwood seat and were previously in the Normanton constituency, so they have not changed really. However, Wrenthorpe, Horbury, Ossett etc used to be in Normanton and are now moved into Wakefield.

The Policing is even worse, Wakefield Rural get Police taking 2 hours to reach them from Wood Street when there is South Kirby 2 minutes drive from most of us who can't come out as they cover South East Wakefield.

I'm sure the Cons or BNP will address Labours omnipresent flaws.

West Yorkshire Police sets it's own operational boundaries in respect of neighbourhood policing within the framework of the overall boundary set for West Yorkshire Police by central government.
