You think what you like and I'm sure he is a decent bloke and from what I'm told he has in the past been considered one of the fairer agents. However that is a marginal issue IMO as it's not the person it's the job that I consider parastical. As far as I'm concerned it is such by nature, using the vulnerability of others to gain a very good living for doing very little. As such most of them have skins thicker than elephant hide so I wouldn't get too indignant on his/their behalf, he will have heard worse. If I had been a gifted player I wouldn't have wanted one of them creaming money of my hard won cash - would you - I'd have soon worked it out myself.
If you feel the role of agents is a good and worthwhile one then fair enough, however I think it's clear what I think and I trust you will respect that.'"
Do you honestly believe that?
Why do nearly all pro sports people use them if they are just creaming off money and not providing any function/service?
In older times when sports ppl negotiated their own contracts clubs abused their lack of financial/contractual knowledge and loyalty to the club and many were ripped off and ended their careers with very little reward for their efforts.
Do you honestly think a pro rugby player could be trusted to negotiate their own terms and pay and get their true worth?
Seriously think about why players may use them. I would in their position.
