I notice that Coun. Jeffries also said - `sooner or later the site would have been developed`, maybe the protesters should consider the alternatives - retail park, business park, site for travellers, wind farm, nuclear power station etc. I think they should rejoice at plans for a Community Stadium, with numerous facilites available to all residents, but they seem to think that the development will be solely for WTW, blinkered nimbys in my view

Don’t take this as gospel but I believe there will be more then just a new stadium on the proposed site. Perhaps the facilities that were considered for the development in the park will be at Newmarket instead (minus the swimming pool). |

Been posting this fact but few want to understand/listen/believe.
Having said that even though part of the site is Green Belt and it will be called in by Government Office (on behalf of thr SoS) if there is overwellming support for the development and few objections it can be passed back to the Council to determine without the need for a Public Inquiry.
That is why the petition is so important. |

More details on the other facilities/users would be a big help for collecting signatures so people could see something in it for them rather than just a stadium for Trin |
