Quote Fordy="Fordy"There might not be a trigger point in the s106 and it does state that the stadium has to be built first but don't think that that means there isn't a trigger point - the development needs to be commercially viable before any developer would build a £12M stadium.
Four committed retailers does not make it a viable development at this stage.
I'm not having a go, and I hope you do get your stadium but experience has told us that what developers say and do are very different. They're trying to be positive as that will help attract other retailers too but you're a way off that yet (in my opinion).'"
Thanks Fordy, thats a very considered and honest post. I do realise how much you've all gone through and thats why I hope I don't seem over confident without reason and I only usually reply to people doubting it or putting false info on here about it. Although yours has dragged on for an eternity its easy to lose track of how long ours has gone on for and I think thats why some facts get forgotten or blurred over.
I'm fairly sure if I sifted through I could find the condition that says building of the retail can start but none can be occupied or trading until the stadium is handed over. This would indeed seem to be the perfect solution but leaves us open to the same that has happened to you so we are all hoping Lateral, Axiom, and GMI are a little more honourable than Yorkcourt. As far as I know there were supposed to be 20 flagpoles going up each with the logo of a company that has already committed.
For what its worth I think I'm about as neutral as it gets as I'm sure I've stated more than once on here that I'd prefer for Cas to stay at revamped Wheldon Road and Trin to stay at a revamped Belle Vue. We'll just have to wait and see.
