| Quote vastman="vastman"Deary me you don't change - "usual suspect" is a classic. Why attempt to wind people up if you don't like the rough and tumble you get in return
FWIW I think you're incorrect but without doing a bit of research and to be honest your not worth it I can''t be sure - Rooney got a cap for England A as far as I remember where as Griffins Caps were full International as far as I recall.'"
i wouldn't expect you to do any research, given that you didn't do any on the "leeds only sign old big name duffers" point that you made. perhaps you were thinking of bradley clyde and brett mullins? both a long time ago now.

Well you do it for me then, did Griffin get full England Caps?
Also not that it matters because your hanging onto this one for dear life, but at no point did I say Leeds "only" sign old duffers.

i have no intention of doing your research for you. i don't remember him playing in the three/four nations matches. they're generally the ones that people are serious about.
i know whatever he has in the way of caps he hasn't deserved.

If you were not so defensive you'd have read a back handed compliment in my post. This is a Wakefield forum so you wouldn't expect my post to be sugar coated or spare Leeds of a few digs would you - you over sensitive ninny. I'm actually saying that Amor simply isn't IMHO a Leeds type signing, I'm saying the expectation at Leeds is far higher than with us and Amor won't fit the bill IMO. Nothing to do with Amors ability as a player but his ability to shine in an environment like Leeds. That is why Leeds tend to go for named players or players who have come through the system, no contradiction or nonsense there. Amor is neither, I believe he was duel reg and then signed on a contract as a punt, which IMHO has been not been a huge success for Leeds.
It's a judgement call by the Leeds club and the player but on past experience I think and hope they will let Amor go. Now don't fall off that high horse will you!'"
Not oversensitive at all.. Just logical...which your ramblings are not. I can take as many trite old hackneyed cheap-shots as you want, but reserve the right to reply to uninformed and ill-reasoned 'intuitions'... even when they are apologetically and wrongly described as 'back handed compliments'
Leeds, if I recall correctly, signed Amor from a team that were 5th in the Championship at the time. He hardly came as a high-profile big-money signing with massive expectations.
Your obsession with a Leeds 'mindset' is particularly amusing. Leeds apply exactly the same criteria in buying players that any other club in SL do, ie ability, affordability, age, experience, attitude, which gaps need filling in the squad, will the player fit in, etc. There is nothing at all in these criteria which prohibit the permanent signing of players who come on dual-contract. This will remain true whether Amor decides to return to Leeds or not.

Hold on tiger, at no point was I apologising to you - but typically presumptive and arrogant as usual I can see why you'd presume such. It's was an opinion on a WAKEFIELD forum site regarding our chances using the "know your enemy" analogy - it was not intended as a Pulitzer prize winning piece of literature - just an opinion - not gospel - you know how forums tend to work, random musings.
So anyway I just checked the AUP's and nowhere does it state that all opinions regarding Leeds RLFC have to be justified to Chief Stinkwort or any other anally retentive Leeds based pedants. So that's how I see it, no apology I can assure you buddy!

| the way this forum works is vastman is never wrong. ever. even when he/she/it clearly is. he's had his backside handed to him on a plate several times on this thread and still it continues.
leeds did used to throw money around unwisely, i think that gary hetherington is exactly what all clubs need - part ceo, and part director of football. he knows about players, he knows about scouts and is vastly experienced in this field. james elston is finding his feet, and the result was he signed some right duffers. leeds rarely do these days.

You keep piggy backing as much as you like and keep pretending you've won some sort of perceived victory by proxy if it helps you feel better - me I'll move on now and enjoy the rest of my life

| The only problem with this forum is if you forget to sign in before you read the threads the person you have blocked posts appear. Needless to say I signed in sharpish to avoid the arrogant inane drivel served up as per usual.
