I am 50/50 on it to be honest. Undoubtedly whilst he has been here, he has been one of our most consistent players, tackles well above his weight and comes up with some good bits of individual skill. However, he is a quota player and he is not the controlling scrum half we need - so it would depend on who was available to replace him as to whether I would be sad to see him go.

I would wholeheartedly agree with that. I like Sam and what he does but you have to question whether a quota place could be better utilised. Having said that he would probably not be my first choice of quota player to get rid of.

im a big sam obst fan both as a player and a representative of wtrlfc and frankly id rather have sam as the known 100% effort player than another quota player who may be too cold, not wrapped in best linen etc etc, question to the whole forum, have you ever ever had the reason to questions sams effort and commitment, and would you take 16 more like him, if slightly taller?

honestly are you serious, even if obst left which overseas player would we get for peanuts. Charlie is probably leaving because he wants 10k more as his contract is low. If he leaves who will replace his quota for what we are paying him, no one of any quality ala tronc will come as we have no money, poorly coached and no garrenteed future.
