Are any of our players contracted for next season?

To be honest i would like to see a clear out. We need experienced halfs & more power up front.
If we go up we can count ourselfs lucky but if we do this team can not keep us there.

Ok lets have a clear out, so we can start all over again, we could get in players who are not as good as the ones we have, we could not make the playoffs, and then this time next year some can say"let's have a clear out"
We don't need a clear out, what we need is 2 or 3 players who can add to the team. We had a big prop, we had another hooker/loose forward, and we had another halfback, but because of work and season injuries they could not play.
these are the same players (not all, but some) who when we were going up via the playoffs could do no wrong.
I still think the problem was too many people expected a chapionship winning side and didn't get one, and now it is grumble time, for that I blame the press. There are still the playoffs, and If we don't go up so what? it as a learning season for JD, and the players to learn his ways.

Get a grip darren, some of us pour our money and energy into supporting the team week in week out, unfortunately the team have fallen short on more than a few occasions putting us in the situation we now find ourselves in, are us fans to grumble - err yes, have we a right to grumble - yes, have we a team capable of promotion - yes

You simply can't blame folk for grumbling cos we have not had a consistant team, we pay our money, we expect 100 % every week and we haven't had it!

I understand about putting money into the club, I spend at the bar, I spend at the shop, I buy the dvds, and have done so for a very long time. I get frusterated just like everyone else, but I am prepared to give the team, and the coach a chance. One season does not make a team, especially with a new coach who is new to coaching, and players who are learning new skills.
We have some exciting players, and yes we have a team capable of promotion, but the season isn't over yet, and there are still the playoff, (in which we have a good record in). If we don't go up I will still be there next year, cheering the team on, cause atleast we have a team. Look at Trafford, Chorley, Blackpool.
Where are they now?
I look at one other thing when I am questioning the team...Can I do any better?

Another thing is, that this is not JD's team it's still Barry Eaton's.

We had half a pre season under the new coach and he didn't sign any of his own players until Coleman and Halley came in.

He's still learning his trade. Lke the season ticket thread, can't we be a little patient for once?

We are second, we have done the double over the top team.

Could be much worse. It is all to play for.

If we were bottom and had lost each game, I still would not be tempted to super duper league.

That said, as the season closes, it is now the time to stand up and perform.

Otherwise, we are back were we started again next season.

Patience indeed Stealth, much needed but in short supply I fear.

As Mickey says we are 2nd in league and even though wish we were top we aint so got to accept and deal with it.

If someone said at beginning of season this is where we would be anyone realistic would have taken it.

The players who are now getting criticised are the ones who got us to 2nd place so cannot be doing much wrong.

Of course in ideal world we would sign Darren Lockyear although he is overrated

I think we have done pretty well with the squad we have, but it's pretty obvious we will need to strengthen if we win promotion.

I understand the frustrations, I do, but I am also a realist and know these things take time, If the team aren't meeting your expectations, then tough, they are doing the best they can, and if people think that we should win every game, then that also means disrespecting the opposition, which is most likely the reason we have lost a few of these games.

I would gladly take 2nd place, and last time we got relegated we didn't even make the playoffs the following year, so it is an improvement on that.
