| Lets just say this will not be the end of the club.
The inland revenue were offered a deal. Which would have seen a very large amount of money. In fact more than half of the outstanding debt given to them in a lump sum. With the remaining amount to be paid back within one year.
This was turned down by the tax authorities and a threat of a winding up order was made.
The club have come up with the only working plan left to them.
The plan with the new directors will make the club stronger.
I know a hell of a lot more, but have been asked not to tell everything i know.
I will be at the pre season games and will be at the first home game of the season.
Make sure you are as well.

| I'll be honest and say I do not understand what is going on exactly.
Is there a chance that we are screwed here? I know the statement says not to be "alarmed", but I am naturally worried here.

Conner don't be.
The club will be in a much better position after this is sorted.
With the new directors the club will go in the right direction.

| "Never again will the club get into this position" is a famlier cry over my long years of the various guises of Keighley RLFC
I find it sad that it has happened yet again, if what I have read so far is true.
No doubt the club will survive AGAIN in perhaps yet another guise yet I really think that Colin Farrer and Neil Spencer had done an excellent job so it really is a bit odd.
If it's any consolation I doubt if the club are the only ones "feeling the pinch" and are probably more "financially stable" than a lot of clubs.
Let's just hope this is a minor blip (if true) and that the club continues on to success.

| The best thing that we can do as fans is to come out and get behind the club.
If you haven't got your season ticket yet, get one.
If you're one of those fans who went to the grand final but doesn't turn up to home league games (except Jeronimo) get your backside down here.
At the end of the day it is our money that decides whether this club survives or not.

| It says dont panic. But this has come as a big shock. Will this jepardise our place in the championship. Will players walk when they get wind of this. Questions need to be answered.
Having seen the company I work for go into administration. Whats the chances of that happening here?.

It does seem odd that attendances were up by a quarter but we couldn't afford to pay the taxman.
It would be nice to see the club elaborate as to why we're in this situation.
After all there are fans like myself who have bought season tickets who are now wondering if they'll lose out.
There are fans who want to buy season tickets who'll be thinking shall I bother?
However, I don't think now is the time to point the finger of blame. Until we know the truth (for all we know it could be a sponsor or creditor that has gone bust on us) we should all get behind the club.

| I really am having to bite my tongue on this one. And have to be very careful in what i say in public, on this forum.
As far as i understand.
We will still be in the league we are in now.
We will not lose the players we have.
The reason the tax people took action is, standard practice in these type of situations, but the club wasn't [ireally[/i in a lot of trouble.
As daft as it seems, it really is just one of those things that happens to a company.
Lets look at it a different way.
The company, Keighley Cougars is restructuring. And because of this some things have to change.

| Because of this, I have the feeling we wont be in the championship next year. We will have to follow gateshead back into champ1 and start with a points penalty. We say we want a level playing field.

Wrong.
We will still be in the championship next season.
The two are very, very different.
Jim.

I'm with you on this one. Whoever finished below us, in my opinion, deserves to go up. Would that be Oldham ?
There has been a lot of fine words from Cougar Park about building for the future. The Tax man is someone you do not mess with, it's ok ripping off local suppliers like the man who supplied those flags waved at the final, or shafting the junior club, but the tax man........foolish

There is more to come yet, but we will not be going down, before the season starts.
