Well still not convinced with PIRG - like said by others think there are defiantly people involved or running PIRG that have axe to grind with people in charge at the club, I'm sure people will make there own minds up but I hope it doesn't put people off donating to Squad Builder because of PIRG and people running it at present- I not just saying my thoughts this is the feeling of a number of fans I've spoke to as well

End result either way is to see Cougars be successful and build a great team and have a great season
it is a worry to the amount of season tickets sold to date as well compared to last season but maybe things are more financially difficult this year and people are just waiting for Xmas to get out of the way, let's hope more start to purchase in January

Maybe what is being missed here is that PIRAG is Supporting squadbuilder,not taking over
it,or running it etc. Mrs Proctor has joined the comitee so we can support her fundraising,
Efforts and lets face it she has done nothing short of fantastic thus far.

I find it sad that a select few are so suspicious of what pirag are doing. Andd don't
trust what is going on. If you are so convinced there are people with swords To
sharpenagainst the club etc then let's stop messing about and name names.
If there is then genuine concern about anyone they can then be removed from the comitee
and it's problem solved.

Maybe all the distrust would start to subside if things maybe got done by the PIRAG properly and above board. Whilst I accept your reasoning for the make-up of the committee as a temporary measure, I think it should have been done democratically from the start. It just lacks credibility for me.

Communications have been made on here by I assume members of the PIRAG inferring they are not happy with the way the club is run etc. That to me adds to the axe to grind argument.

The communication is made about PIRAG joining forces with the squad builder etc, yet nobody is given any information about what impact this has. I think like some have eluded to on here, walk before you can run and get things done properly. Maybe squad builder members should have been consulted first.

Thats just my point of view and I'm happy to be corrected if I'm way off the mark.

Also , If there is opposition to this then do come to the next meeting and voice
your concerns as there is no point banging heads on here anymore as I have made
things as cle ar as possible.

Come to the meetings , join in, and help us do the one thing
that is really needed.... Raise some cash for squad builder instead of just sitting there
pulling other peoples efforts to bits.

Oh ,by the way ,one of rhe members of pirag is going to try to get a group of
volunteers to help clean ; tidy and mend down at the ground,again anyone is
welcome to join in. I'm sure details will be posted here soon.We will also be trying to
to get tje golden goal going at half time again.... Do you all approve and trust us with

Burley Cougar - For the record, I haven't taken any of your post's as angry or aggressive. I just thought we have differing views and in essence that contributed to a decent debate. When you place angry logo's on it would suggest you are getting frustrated though! Maybe that's why GW has mentioned it?

I have no issue with you and honestly applaud what is being done. I have no aspiration or intention of joining the PIRAG, but appreciate many give up time to help the Cougars succeed. I have given up many hours of my own time to assist the club so we share a common goal and I don't mean just standing on the terraces.

I have my views of the PIRAG and you have yours. There's nothing wrong with that. Maybe in my last post I used incorrect wording in "properly". I didn't mean it to sound that harsh. This thread was started by people asking for views which I have provided. If anyone reading this is not a member of the PIRAG I agree with you, go down to a meeting and form your own opinion.

Who has pulled your efforts to bits? I have given my view on the PIRAG set-up and the squad builder link. I have not criticised the work anyone has done?

Why didn't people who have started and joined pirag just join squadbuilder in the first place.

Because PIRAG is intended to be more than just a fundraising organisation. It's about giving fans a collective voice through a legitimate recognised organisation. A fully independent supporters group that hopefully in time will be fully established and afilliated with supporters direct, an organisation that represents and helps groups of fans across the country.

I think it would be good if those heavily involved with PIRAG could put in more detail on here what they're about because I genuinely believe the more members they get the better it will be for us a fans and ultimately for the club as well.

From the meetings I've been to I can say they have a lot of good information that fans can use to make an informed decision based on facts, not perceptions, it needs to be out there.

@stealth .... The first paragraph basically explains what we are about with the
addition of trying to raise funds for squadbuilder.

That sums it up in a nutshell.

As far as I am aware, it has not been set up to be in competition with other activities but to complement them in the same way that the much misunderstood and maligned (by the club) KISA tried to do.

It is paramount that organisations like this have a legitimate, recognised constitution and are independent of the club. I see no reason why it can't join with squadbuilder as long as the members want this, and the constitution reflects this. But I believe the members would need to vote for this to happen. Some are members of both organisations already.

It's a shame more fans did not attend the early meetings.

I was under the impression that the "temporary" Steering Committee was set up with the sole intention of establishing a Democratic Supporters Trust, which it has yet to do. I maintain that the steering committee do not have the democratic power to change the setup of PIRAG. I believe that the Steering Committee should concentrate on the job in hand i.e. establishing the Supporters Trust before going out on a limb.
