| The game itself was not a classic and when Hored twice early on I feared the worst but the cougars dug in and towards end of 1st half dominated and went in 12-6 down.
2nd half began with Haven giving it a go but again we dominated and we scored good tries and fully deserved the win.
This cannot be classed as sour grapes because we won but the referee and linesman missed at least 3 clear knock ons to the amazement of nearly everyone, once again a incostintent display by the officials.
Its fantastic we are now on plus 1 well done everyone only dampener for me was seeing our former chairman and other freeloaders in the bar as it brings home again the fact we could be near play offs as it not been for his incompetence.

| Former Chairman who's Lexus Hybrid was parked inside the stadium gates, next to the coach as if he's some kind of club official or something.
Why is this charade still going on? Are the club hiding something from us? Is he still there in some sort of an official capacity? I even saw him getting out of the Cougars' community minibus outside my house a few weeks back.
Back on topic,
Played well second half I thought, played patiently, controlled field position, waited for Haven to make the error, and exploited it clinically.
Credit to Barry, the changes in the backs have really worked, in both attack and defence.

| What was he doing outside your house, Stealth???
He always looks very official, in his blazer and tie.
I bought you a pint after the game Mick, but you must've left. I had to drink it myself.

simpsons/simp048.gif I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

| A tense game with mistakes from both sides, the difference in the end was our desire and teamwork.
Once again another very good last ditch, try saving tackle from Hutch. Good to see Jermaine back, but he does not look fully fit. Sorry to hear that Scott Law has slipped a disc - although we need a fully fit pack back together, the lads on the field all did themselves proud.
I'm not sure what Neil's up to, he must realise that he is rubbing salt into old wounds. But one thing you have to say about the bloke is he made the effort to travel all that way to support the lads in a critical game. As far as I know, he has nothing to do with the club anymore, the RFL would be on us like a ton of bricks if he had.

| This is a very big step up the staying up ladder.
Well played to all who were involved.
Well done Barry.
As for our former chairman. Why shouldn't he be there, after all he is a fan, we all know that.
I think its time people moved on. No one is going to stop him following the team.

| Great day out - great result - thought all the guys played well - for me I was impressed with Craig Moss playing at full back ,best game I've seen him play for Keighley , Sheldrake tackled well in the centre and yet another couple of huge hits from Hutchie
Much must be said of the reserves as well who were narrowly defeated by a much older and stronger Haven side 42-38 in the curtain raiser , the Cougar young uns only being pipped at the death after fighting back from a 26-6 deficit in the 1st half

| Were as reserves were losing 24-6 and what a comeback although in the end we just fell short.
On the 1st team game whilst Whitehaven were poor our players dominated so much that they had not much chance especially the 2nd half.
As for comment by GW re former chairman and folk moving on, why on earth should this be laid to rest the damage done is affecting the present and the future and I have no intention of rolling over and allowing the former chairman the notion folk think its all fogotten because it will not be until at least the end of the season.
If we fail to survive this season due to the points deduction alone then this will create even more anger.
Most folk who have let a club go into administration based on lies told to everyone that things were wel financially would have realised the game was up, but then when the rfl confirm he is UNFIT to have any involvement in the club based on various criteria I would have thought that would make him think its time to go.
Yes I accept that now he is not an official of the club and should act accordingly and pay admittance at away games like all other fans.
The club have to ensure he is not using directors passes etc as this could bring about the end of the club as part of the deal allowing cougars 2010 into league dictates this. may sound dramatic but its a real risk.

| I'm not going to question his loyalty as a fan, if he comes to games fair play to him.
But it many things that he does that annoy me.
At home games his car is always parked as close to the gates as possible, it's as if he wants to remind us all he still here. I mean FFS he gets in for nowt but won't pay a quid to leave in the club car park.
He struts around as if he still owns the place.
He's never apologised for what happened or for lying to us.

| As far as i know, he represent us at RFL meetings?
If this is the case, then he is still involved with the club way above that of a ordinary fan.
One other thing. If the past board had paid the bills they owed, then i doubt very much we would have won promotion.
The funding would have gone to do that, rather than play lots of money for players.

Even you have said in the past its time to move on. You can read what you said rlhere, yours is the 4th post.rl
Why is it OK for you for you to say, its time to move on, but other people cant say it?

Firstly ....I'm not getting involved in the argument over specific individuals involvement at the Cougars ...that is down those peoples and their opponents to sort out amongst themselves.. nuff said
BUT to make statements like that above is not right ...I'm sure that (and if I'm wrong then please tell me I'm wrong Helen) that I would hope that all volunteers at the Cougars from the raffle ticket sellers (Goosey ,Wendy et al ) , to Keith on the Car Park , through to our RFL reps are all valued equally ...regardless of finacial input
As far as involvement as far as 'the ordinary fan ' goes ...my thought has always been that the club owners / directors only in so far as their financial involvement goes ,pay's for a higher class of season ticket than the rest of ' the ordinary fans' , they are lucky enough to be in a better monetary position to contribute to that level than the rest of us ..and take advantage of the benefits that go with the position..
Most other 'ordinary ' fans contribute in so far as our personal situation allows (eg membership of the KC club , squadbuilder , player / match sponsorship allows).....plus the cost of traveling to watch the boys away...
Perhaps if anyone else but 'girlpower ' had posed the question certain contributors answers would have been different ...
But then would have been no fun would it

| Rach, by me saying ordinary fan, i meant people who turn up pay at the gate and go home.
If as i am led to believe, he is the clubs rep with the RFL. Then he is clearly doing more than just that.
If you or anyone else, wants to think i was trying to be-little, any of the people helping the club. Just to score points over someone else, then you really are living in cloud cuckoo land.
If we stay up, then Neil and the rest of the old board. May have just pulled of one really brave move.
