| Whoever it is. I hope its not a player coach.
We need new blood bringing into the club.
A current assistant coach from a sl team is my guess.

| Personally I can see it will be Matt Bramald. I agree he did great at keighley when he was here but I really dont see him turning the club arround
I read Mike Smiths thing, I disagree with some stuff he said but one thing he was right if the club has any chance of bringing people back (myself included) It needs a high profile character (forgetting any money issue for one moment)
2 Options I see
1) It needs another JD Character an aging SL player (just about to or just has retired looking to get into coaching) who can be a player coach for a season or two, maybe bring a few with him
or
2) A an experienced coach who has coached at a higher level in the past
From that for me id like to see
Option 1.
Luke Dorn - Just retiring at Cas, very experienced player in the top level good media links etc I can see him as a new JD (could possibly play 1 season at this level)
Option 2.
Could be quite a controversial one but Karl Harrison (remember King Karls barmy army) Experienced for sure but he is strong character and he would be a good catch I feel
or
Personally would like to see Paul Anderson recent sl expereince I know things havnt gone well for Hudds this year but that didnt make him a bad coach just look at Hudders i recent years before this one under his tenure, quite experinced including his assistant years

| A coach is only as good as the players. If the players won't do what is requested, and its their choice, then what can a coach do?
There are many ego driven mercenaries in RL. Club loyalty zero, team loyalty zero, bank balance xxxxxxx !!
The RL system has changed. Some detest change and sadly they have a narrow blinkered view but believe everything is fine. It certainly isn't.

simpsons/simp048.gif I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

That simply is not true.
Look at what happened when Tony Smith went to the perennial under performers Warrington:-
He spent a short time identifying the issues.
He transferred players ( even the best ones) whom he thought wouldn't change.
He told Lee Briers he would be sent out on loan to a lower division club if he didn't mend his ways.
He got the players to buy into a new team culture and work ethic.
He brought in players who would match this new ethic.
He has great man management skills but will never be one of the boys. The players know where the line is and he has demonstrated what will happen if you cross it.
Most of the teams we are competing against have similar budgets to us, some have a lot less. We should have performed better than we have this year. That failure is down to the coach ( who has now been with us 5 years) and directors between them. The coach has worked with this group of players long enough to know the issues and should have sorted them.

Can't agree with that. A few years back Harry Redknapp went to Spurs when they were 9 points adrift at the foot of the table at Christmas. He turned the same players around and they ended up mid-table. March's worst moment (his words) was at Toulouse when he totally misread the tactics. He went to Toulouse (just as Kilshaw did a few weeks back) thinking his team could slow down play and disrupt the flow. The plan backfired quite spectactularly.

| Sorry but if the players won't buy into doing what is right they won't . They are on the field missing tackles, can't be air&&& to tackle and put the effort in.
It's an attitude of mind and I stand by my comments. Adding "free" cash just makes it worse.

| Quite agree. Against Toulouse the players showed no fight, they gave in after the first 20 points went in. I've no idea if March was to blame for the attitude but he got the game-plan wrong on the day which must have demoralised the players. The job of any coach surely has to be to try to get the best out of the players he has at his disposal, so maybe it's simply a question of him not getting together a squad good enough to compete at this level ? From the evidence I saw, the squad didn't look up to it, their attitude was an insult to the brilliant fans who travelled and the coach got his tactics wrong.

| Of all the candidates, it's got to be Willie Poching for Keighley Cougars. Would be everything March could never be as a head coach & be a good appointment for a proper owner never mind Fawcett

Is a dream a lie if it don't come true. Or is it something worse?: |

Agreed, I have no doubt that he could get us into the championship but could we afford him? Also, I would imagine a number of championship clubs will be looking at him.
