| 'Mates with JD' as well as 'Korki', but Sam also played for Whitehaven when he first came to the UK. Could that be the reason for his attendance?

| i find this hard to believe with the club still growing i cannot imagine it been able to afford the wages of mr korkidas mr demetriou mr barnett mr march mr jones and a mr obst.
furthermore i believe we have jymel coleman possibly signing and lest we all forget about the impressive ryan smith.
i think the club should use what they have as from what ive seen we need no more additions to the squad. and i do think we shall be a force to be reckoned with.

JD has stated he will NOT spend what the club does not have so I trust his management of the squad budget. So far, some impressive signings and additions to the squad. IMO we are still light in a few positions and understand why JD is still exploring the market. No more additions? Seems a strange comment to me but everyone's entitled to their opinion.

The only opinion that really counts is JDs. If he thinks we need some more players and the club can afford them. Then they better get them in.

Still think our three quarters could do with strengthening. I accept we've signed Barnett and Normington, but a bit more cover would be nice. Also, depending on JD playing do we have cover at loose forward? I assume Greg and Baines have left? If it's in the budget, lets get the best squad we can. If we don't have the money then the squad this time around is stronger than that of our last Championship campaign.

| If you are so bold as to put an opinion of you thinking we are light in certain positions then surely you would care to enlighten us all with your wisdomess choices as to what positions to strengthen.
On the three quarters we have barnett duffy lawton moss Normington (when not on Leeds duty) haythornthwaite sagar, these not good enough ? When.each of these players can play any position in the back 5

Haven't I just done that above.? This is MY opinion which I am entitled to have. Just like I accepted you have YOUR take on it. There is no need to throw your teddies out if someone doesn't share your view. You have yours, I have mine. This is a forum where people come on to share their views. You will note I mentioned the word "squad". This is important as injuries will occur and we lack strength in depth in the departments I referred to. Again, my opinion.

| There is an article in one of the RL papers suggesting Obst has been made an offer by JD. Fair play to JD for exploring this, but I just can't see it coming off. If you believe the rumours then Wakey want him back and seem to be trying to get shut of a few players to make room in cap. Personally, I think he'll end up at Wakey. There is also word JD is after a centre and hooker. No names mentioned, but would assume the hooker is Obst.

| so in your opinion for the back five and especially in the three quarters position as you first stated who would you see fit to be a sold link in an evergrowing strong chain of players ?
yes a forum where you put your opinions and views forth but you should be able to back them up with a solid reasoning and intent for saying them.
my teddy is securely in my pram i just dont se how somebody who has never played the game at such a level could comment on needing strength i would think if the players other jd visit this site would take offence to this.

What a load of rubbish! Everybody is perfectly entitled to their opinions, regardless. It's called free speech. To say somebody can't have an opinion cos they haven't played at that level is extremely narrow minded to say the least. Certainly looks to me that you don't like the fact that Dominance has a different opinion to you.
Some of the most successful managers in sport (Ferguson, Mourinho, Wenger, Benitez in the football world) never played at the highest level, doesn't seem to have done them any harm and I'm damn sure that they had an input as to whether their squads were strong enough!
Forums are here for everybody to use, wouldn't be much of a forum if you had your way and limited it to an elite few would it!!

Pretty fair points to be honest. It's difference of opinion that generates discussion and it would be a boring forum if we all agreed.

I cant recall ever saying our current players weren't good enough so I can see no reason why any of my comments would cause JD or the players an issue. Not that I need to justify my opinion however, just to enlighten you with my thought process:
2011 Squad (backs)
Belcher
Moss
Burton
Lawton
Duffy
James Haythornthwaite
Sagar
Baines
Lopag
Hutch
Sheldrake
2012 Squad (backs)
Moss
Duffy
Lawton
James H
Sagar
Barnett
Normington
From that I feel in a squad sense we look a little light in the backs. My opinion. As someone has pointed out, Jake is a dual reg and there is a possibility of him being unavailable for selection at certain times. I have played the game, but granted not at this level. You must know me to make that assumption? Have I upset you in a former life? Although, what that has got to do with anything I don't know. Maybe you see my opinion based on that as inferior to yours, or someone who has played the game. If that's the case then fine, but I still feel I have a right to an opinion.
I accept the 2011 squad is the one on paper and Baines was included due to him playing there a couple of times last season.
Even for someone having not played at this level, I understand the Champ is a step up in class and the need for a strong squad will be more important than last season. Also, players coming to the club, does not mean others are not good enough. Older, more experienced players bring on younger players, but I guess you'll know that already.

| If the signing of Sam comes off great stuff, if it doesn't never mind, we still have a really exciting squad for this coming season and adding better players will make it even more so. I can see us having a great season either way.
