Keighley Cougars have been dealt heavy punishments in the past and it's only fair that other clubs are dealt with in the same way. In a year when 5 teams have been relegated any cheating should not be tolerated! '"

Is a dream a lie if it don't come true. Or is it something worse?: |

The burning question would be
Does this aid our cause? Or does it hinder it?

| Depends on your view on the the situation I suppose. Had the same debate with myself last night. If nothing else, it examples that DR should be abolished. Certainly helps Batley and Donny's case if the RFL did take action against them and hinders other clubs who may have had a case for appeal. As we didn't use DR last season we are probably one of a few clubs who can say we played by the rules and look where it got us. Firstly IMO DR took us away from a level playing field and if clubs are abusing this and breaking the rules then there is a massive unfair advantage gained by the rule breaker.

| Agree DR should be abolished. Go back to the tried and tested loan system (min one month) instead.
IF it is the case that the RFL has only just found out about Whitehaven, York etc fielding ineligible players last season they should put the cases to the Operational Rules Tribunal. They can then decide that 3 points deduction is the sanction. The RFL can then ( for what it's worth ) adjust the final 2013 tables for the record.
In Australia, a few years ago they moved Melbourne from the top to the bottom of the final league table as part of the punishment for breaching the salary cap (even though they had already won their Grand Final match).

They actually prior to the start of the following season said you'll play all year bottom with 0 points no matter how many games you win. (They'd of finished 4th that season)
They were also stripped of the three NRL titles & two Minor Premierships they won during this time and the two World Club Challenge trophies they beat Leeds for also.

| Good idea CHC.

Unfortunately, there is one flaw in this suggestion which is: The RFL appoint the members of the Operational Rules Committee and can also remove them from the Committee (as I understand it). If anyone has time, will they check the 'Rules of the Game' which are provided on the RFL's website.
It's another case of: 'DO as WE say, not as WE DO'.
Keep the momentum of the Petition going and email all of your mates to sign it if they believe in 'adhering to the Rules' of whatever sport they support and ask them if believe in 'Fair Play'.

| The momentum appears to be stalling, despite the Keighley News article.
If we are to be successful then we must continue to get our friends and contacts to sign.
There are already 1800 signatories to the Petition from all over the world but, if every true Cougars' supporter even managed to get four of their friends to sign then we could easily get to 5000 with little effort.
Question about the Petition, can Sheffield be included retrospectively?

| The Petition is at 1896 as I type.
Here's the link again to make it easier to findhttps://www.change.org/p/the-rugby-football-league-reinstate-keighley-cougars-to-the-rl-championship-after-the-failure-to-enforce-punishment-on-clubs-guilty-for-a-serious-breach-of-league-rules-directly-led-to-the-relegation-of-keighley-cougars-rlfc?share_id
We've got so far, but need to make it to 2000.
