To take a claim for compensation to the CoAS is not expensive (if you fill the form in yourself and avoid paying a lawyer to do it for you).
You can request urgent relief - which will stop the RFL distributing 2015 SKY money before a CoAS decision is made. Assuming Cougars just claim for compensation (not to reverse relegation).
Would be interesting to see how Cougars go in 2015 go if they get the SKY money Batley are expecting as a Championship club and Batley get Championship 1 money!
Sheffield got £30m compensation awarded from West Ham by CoAS when W Ham fielded ineligible Teves which resulted in West Ham avoiding relegation at the expense of Sheff Utd who went down. Batley seemed happy to argue "precedent" - so Cougars should.

I like the sound of that. Batley are indeed fond of 'precedents'.

| From A neutral I thought your guys were phenomenal and deserved at least a draw or even nicking it. On paper even though Rovers were down to the bare bones of a team, they still looked on paper too good for keighley, but as we know games are not won on paper. Reading between the lines the cougars appear to have let a number of games slip in the dying seconds of games and it happened again today with a bit of class and quick thinking on the last tackle. You could hear a pin drop in the main stand when fev went over and the devastation in the club house afterwards was clear to see. Relegating 5 teams is an absolute joke and especially after the reverse decision of giving points back to batley. I am sure that if you can keep the team together you will be favourites to return and I hope you do. good luck

| In an earlier post, I urged Cougars fans to consider directing their vitriol at the RFL - as opposed to Batley. However, I've just remembered that they hauled you out of the brown stuff a few years back by buying your ground from you.
Looks like directing your anger at Batley is the best option after all.

Regarding this point, it doesnt make sense, if we are saying the RFL did us a favour by buying the ground fair enough, but that then this gives them the right to balls up the penalty for cheating by other teams? I dont think so.

| I tell you exactly what cost you that game, the stadium announcer; yes the stadium announcer he kept reading out the batley Donny score then stopped last 25 mins. had he kept announcing the score and the players new Donny were getting hammered Rovers wouldn't of been so desperate

That isn't true.
Our ground is owned by the Co-op and has been for a number of years.
If I understand it correctly, the rfl acted as middleman when the lease was due for renewal to make sure the co- op actually did renew the lease rather than building retail on the site.

| whilst its no consolation now i just read an interesting post on the fev forum where someone stated that if keighley had purposely given fev a penalty in that last set in front of the sticks just before they scored, fev would have definately taken the shot at goal and the game would have ended in a draw as 2 point was all that fev needed and whitehaven would be down.
i guess hindsight is a wonderful thing but also i would assume experienced players such marchy or handforth would have worked that out...

| I did wonder if 2 points was enough for Fev when they were on the hunt in our 20yd. Fancy that, March not giving a penalty away when necessary. I guess most players don't factor in draws in that situation, being quite rare. Just shows how close everything was, so many variables to how the season would end for top and bottom teams. Predictably we came off worst! Just about coming to terms with it now. Could be worse, we could be cheats

| yes in the end they did not need to win and two points (draw) would have been enough for both teams and a fair result. when you think about it you would have expected that someone on your coaching staff would have been aware of all the possible scenarios as they would have known other scores and acted accordingly. like you say marchy has a penalty or two in him
