I just think these are the games to make most money. If we reduce for our fans we have to for them. If you was a cougars fans you would come for such a big game anyway?
Its the smaller gates we need to target. I am a season ticket holder but i dont mind deals but they have to be at the right time imo.

| Probably too late to market it now. Instead of increasing crowd, it would just lower the revenues.

| Just to confirm that even if the admission was FREE I, along with lots of others would not attend.
The RFL as a whole have a big problem to face and seem totally incapable of addressing it. The Cougars are not big or strong enough to do anything more than they do.
An awful lot of people have forgotten what Rugby League was all about. Even more, so it seems, know even less.

| Couldn't make the game tonight, but looking forward to the views. Looking at the scoreline it would seem we didn't turn up AGAIN. Teams around us appear to be raising their game and getting bonus points but we seem to struggle against the bigger teams. Hunslet away at Sheffield as a casing point. A late try gave them, what could be, a valuable point.
The way I see it York still prop up the table and will need 2 wins now to stand any chance. Hunslet will need to beat Fev at home and Swinton will need 3 points away at Haven. That being said, if we beat Barrow we control out own destiny. It's squeaky bum time that's for sure!
Now's not the time to look back, but we really should not be in this position. How much could our early season form hurt us?

It wasnt a case of us not turning up. Fax were just much better than us.

Cougars supporters need to be more upbeat and confident than this especially with the memory of Cougarmania in the 1990's showing what was and still is possible, if everybody pulls together. On another thread about whether Featherstone should be picked to be put in Super League next season if London Broncos fold, even a Hull KR supporter thinks Cougars are a good bet for Super Leaguestill feel Keighley could be re-born as an SL club (esp with the Bulls unfortunately on a downward slope).
Part of me will also always think a York is a big enough city to support an SL club, great place.
Although just a bonus point against Barrow would be enough to guarantee staying up, Cougars supporters should get to Barrow to cheer the team on to a famous win - then the other new signings for 2014 will be announced.

I wish you all the luck, I would hate to see Keighley go down, a great club, a nice cosy bar, some nice supporters and a great pie and peas.
Mind you I would not like to see Barra go down, a great three days away.
Best of luck, Keighley.

To be fair if you had played us a couple of weeks ago the result would have been much closer.
Yes we clicked yesterday but apart from an odd result we have been pretty mediocre all season.
Remember, we have lost to Featherstone twice, Seagulls three times, Leigh once and drawn with Batley, not the season we hoped for.
Good luck in your last game.

A spot-on assessment of why we got beat. There was a noticeable difference in class between the two teams. I couldn't really fault our lads for effort or desire, it was just that Fax were so much better. They were visibly faster and, perhaps more importantly, cleverer than us in their play. Some of the kicks they put in were of the utmost quality and it shows what we miss because we don't have that. Their defence during that first half period when we were camped on their line was awesome. We just don't seem to have the inventiveness to break down a well-drilled defence which is very frustrating.

| I think one of the frustrating features of 2013 has been consistency - or lack of it. How can you square the win at Whitehaven or 34-0 trouncing of York (who had just beaten Featherstone the week before) with some of the other perplexingly poor games? Was it that we were so good or did we play some average teams who were having bad days? Let us hope that our performance up at Barrow is one of the handful of great games or it will be a long road home from Cumbria! I too would hate to see York or Barrow go out of the Championship. Two great clubs - but if it's us or them....

Re consistency: what we have done consistently is fail to perform against any of the top sides. York and Swinton have beaten Featherstone, Barrow have beaten Halifax and I'm sure there have been more such unlikely results. We however have not had any of them; the highest placed teams we have beaten this season have been Whitehaven and Doncaster. We have very predictably lost to all the top teams both home and away. It's not good. We really should not be in the position we are in, having to go to North Lancashire and hope for the best. Yes, Barrow is Lancashire club. 'Cumbria' is a made-up, kid-on 'county' which isn't even as old as me.

| I have to disagree. Wins against any oft he top teams would have been a bonus.
But more importantly what we haven't done is performed in games which we should have won:
Whitehaven at home 12-16 LOST
Swinton at home 10-20 LOST
Dewsbury away 18-10 LOST
Dewsbury at home 28-32 LOST
Workington away 28-18 LOST (yes it was the 2nd trip in 4 days to Cumbria)
Alright we got a bonus point in each of these matches but in my opinion there's 10 points gone in the above matches which we could and probably should have had.

You have a point, but dual reg has made this season unpredictable since you don't know who you are playing against from one week to the next.
Leeds have said that their whole team is dual reg with Hunslet and either all or most of the Warrington team with Swinton. Both Workington and Dewsbury have made use of the system.
If you go on any of these teams forums after a lost match you will find fans moaning that they suffer without their D/R players.
Some teams must be in a poor state when they have had to rely on this system so quickly - they obviously see this as a do-or-die year.
