| Quote: Dominance "Just a few ideas to add into the mix;
Paul White - White Noise (Disclosure).
I seem to remember hearing the Ant and Dec - Lets get ready to rumble years ago, in fact, it may have been around the glorious Cougarmania years. Maybe given the link to Fridays game (if it goes ahead) and the popularity of this song again, it could be a good entrance song for the boys?
I can still recall the noise of Mick on the microphone mentioning the feeding time words etc. It added to the atmosphere and got the kids excited. Other than seeing glimpses of freddy now and again (sometimes not at all) what is there to appeal to the younger end fans. It got me 20 years ago and I've come back for more since. What is there for the younger fans now to make them remember and want to come back.
It may not work second time around I accept, but could we get someone with some personality and gift of the gab who could stoke up the fans in preparation for the game. No offence to anyone, but at the moment the MC struggles to get our own players names correct.'"
It think a balance has to be struck. Some of the things were innovative and new 20 years ago are now clichéd and dated although similar principles can apply to today. Rev the crowd up with high tempo, intense music. Keep it reasonably modern but chuck a few classics in there.
Clubbed To Death- Rob Dougan
Resistance-Muse
Immigrant Song- Led Zeppelin
Radioactive- Imagine Dragons
Brianstorm- Arctic Monkeys
F.E.A.R- Ian Brown
Out Of Space- The Prodigy

| Quote: Wooden Stand "Don't forget - most people at Cougars are volunteers giving their time and effort.
On another thread it was mentioned PIRAG has £400. I wonder if they would buy a top notch radio microphone with a better range than the current one and loan it to Dubane so he could get singers / MCs / half time draw etc to perform on a small portable platform on the centre spot? - that would have more impact than people trying to interact with the crowd being lost in amongst the dugouts as has to happen now.
All those who the board asks to volunteer need the encouragement and support of all fans'"
Thanks for that, but as a volunteer myself I understand many give up their time and effort for little to no thanks. My point wasn't intended to upset anyone or be rude, just fair constructive feedback. The matchday experience does need work and things like that don't help, but I suppose the club can't expect much with the massive budget allocated of zero.

I take your point, but that alone would not make me think, wow, I want to come back again. I also understand what worked then maybe won't have the same effect now, but we have to try something different. How many people were sceptical about Cougarmania version 1 and look what happened with that. Something innovative needs to be tried to make it an experience. Don't ask me what though?

I think Dubane does a perfect job at MC - You can ear him clear as day in the stand if not a bit to loud sometimes, These people dont get payed so we should be glad of there imput for free,

"Perfect" is a bit OTT.
There are far more people in the rest of the ground than there are in the stand. I stand at both ends and the speakers are inconsistent to non existent.
Volunteers deserve praise but are not beyond constructive criticism if it improves the matchday experience for all.

Think constructive criticism is fine, but everyone can have an opinion - I also know both ends of the sticks are poor with the sound but this is surly down to the club rather than having a pop at a volunteer, maybe the board can have a look at this and put there hand in there pockets and then everyone will be happy

| Is not having a PA system that is clearly audible throughout the ground a health and safety issue?

| I think people need to stop taking constructive comments personally.
If the sound is a club issue, fine. The sound quality at both ends is poor. If the MC/Soundman is aware of this are they not best placed to feed this back to the club with a view to bidding for finance? I would do not have a clue with regard to speaker requirements etc. If this has already been done and fallen on deaf ears I apologise.
My comment was in relation to getting our own players names wrong which I'm sorry, volunteer, or paid employee is somewhat embarrassing.
I think Dreamers post is spot on in so far as, volunteers deserve massive praise for the time and effort put into the club, but should not exempt themselves from constructive feedback to improve what they and the club provide.

| I guess people would rather have their constructive comments via another medium which isn't published on open view on the world wide web.
People make comments about my videos. I appreciate it if they tell me to my face or at least as a PM.
Stood behind the Siddal players filming at the bottom end yesterday the common theme of their discussion was Why would you want to play for Keighley. All you do is get berated and slagged off by your own fans.
If the opposition feel the negativity what do our own players feel.
Don't shoot the messenger, it is just what I could hear them saying.

| Accepted Micky, but that is your preference not necessarily everyone's. Apart from a handful of people on here I do not know who people are and their involvement with the club. How do you PM someone when you don't know who they are or their involvement?
In relation to the comments regarding player critique etc, I don't think this is just isolated to the Cougars. In fact, I know for definite other sites are much more forthright in their views about players than our site. I think in the main people make comment on the game, coach and directors, but I feel individual players don't come in for a massive amount of flack. I looked at the Cas forum recently and some comments about Mr Owen were less than complementary.

I was not having a "pop" at a volunteer, they all deserve respect.
You said he was "perfect" - I disagreed. I think I'm nearer the truth don't you?
If I was to compare him against all the other announcers that I have seen at Cougar park then I would put him as "average". I'm not trying to insult anyone, just being honest and I realise that it's only an opinion.
I find it curious that you feel he should be immune from criticism yet on the Siddal thread you have a "pop" at Gavin Duffy by picking him out as the only player from 17 to criticise.

A pop at Gav after the way he played on Sunday a honest opinion again i could have names a few players i normally think Gav plays well he just had a off match.
