The RFL must have something up there sleeve in regards to us and Sheffield. Just picked this up fresh from the Twittersphere:

"@TheRFL: We are aiming to confirm Summer Bash + Magic Weekend fixtures in mid-November. Other 2015 fixtures published at end of this month"

What makes you think "The RFL must have something up there sleeve in regards to us and Sheffield"? Please explain. With regard fixtures, you mentioned in another post "They want to release them W/B 27th October or W/B 3rd November".

I'm amazed they're set on releasing the fixtures so early given the circumstances.

What if they're released then we're reprieved for example. Means they'd have to re-do an entire divisions fixture list. Personally, I think they should stick to the traditional post international date.

Okay, we can all agree that would cause a problem, unless the RFL are adamant 'No Reprieve' which is something I want to address later;

but

what are you saying here? why are you saying it? Please explain!

With regard to "No Reprieve" how far will the chairman take this? Remember, we have threatened legal action before and then backed down "for the good of the game etc" ......... this time I'd say stuff "for the good of the game", Gary needs to look at this as a business, the RFL are not playing by the rules they set, in fact to quote Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (Full Metal Jacket) "I bet The RFL are the kind of guy that would a person in the ass and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around" that's them, we/Gary needs to playhard and if it upsets them or we make enemies then stuff'em a026.gif

edit: and I didn't write "French Connection UK" either!

I did tell you they would get them out straight away.

If they come out before we get it sorted with the RFL it is game over.

I'm saying in my eyes they are either finding a way or looking to find a way to get round this as they have done with Todd Carney's move to Catalans otherwise they wouldn't be adamant on getting the fixtures out so early.

And I ain't buying this "to help build excitement around the new structure's launch" bull either.

You shouldn't be amazed. The RFL have dragged our case out and in my opinion will continue to do so. They have taken a gamblers stance that at some point we will run out of cash and withdraw our legal action. They have already said they are not going to change their mind and will probably play the "their decision is final" card. We will have to prove the Batley/Doncaster appeal hearing was flawed to get round this.

In the meanwhile they are organising the season such that any reversal will cause clubs an organisational problem and then WE will be the bad guy and other clubs may bring pressure against us. I think the phrase is "divide and conquer".

At some point we are left with a major decision, do we:

a) take the easy option and jack the case in and get on with life

b) take the difficult, and perhaps unpopular route of taking the RFL on.

I'm not sure how strong our case is, nor am I versed in legal procedures, but is it possible to get an injunction to stop them releasing the fixtures, or to put a hold on the fixtures if they release them first? How long does it take to get one? This is the one thing that would get some immediate action from the RFL.

Having said all this it could have been prevented by winning one of those crucial games.

I think that one thing we should all be doing is keeping it as high profile
As possible.Keep other peoples interested in it.
How about we all post in the ' virtual terrace ' section on the main
Forum ??? It will at least keep fans from other clubs talking about it ,
Keep it in the public eye so to speak.

Apparently there is a meeting of all Championship clubs taking place at Halifax today, maybe we will find out if we are on our own or not after that, or maybe we will remain in the Mushroom syndrome (kept in the dark and fed sh 1 t)

Yes, we should have won one of those games i agree, but does that mean that if it had happened to another team we would all be saying hard luck get on with i,t and we don,t have a problem with the RFL doing as they please and riding rough shod over the less fortunate and ignoring their own rules ?, i don,t have a problem with being in C1 to be honest, we are where we are.

Being relegated to Ch 1 isn't the problem, it's the manner of how we are being relegated to Ch 1 that is! We are not championship material, but neither are Batley and they broke the rules and should have fewer points then ourselves.

Being relegated to Ch 1 robs us of championship revenue and also the potential revenue from playing superleague teams in the playoff next season plus the revenue from potentially playing Superleague football the season after (wasn't that GF's goal?) .

What really riles me is the fact that it is not in dispute that both Batley and Doncaster broke the rules, yet we are expected to take the punishment. The useless RFL seems set on this and will be desperate to get those fixtures published in the hope that this will make it all a done deal.
Both Batley and Doncaster will actually profit from their rule-breaking. Indeed, as we know, Doncaster have already had £25,000 which should be in the coffers at Sheffield and Batley will be counting plenty of extra money from bigger gate receipts, while we at Keighley will be scratting about down the back of the settee to see if we can find the odd couple of pence down there. And we were the club which played by the rules. It proper stinks. If we have to resort to litigation to prevent the fixtures coming out then fine. The RFL clowns will have brought it on themselves and it's time they were sorted out.
