| It's OK looking forward to the new season but without a permanent coach in place then it all seems to be academic to me.
Does anyone know when an appointment will be made as we're less than 2 months away from our first competitive game?

| It's going to take time to go through a proper recruitment process.
The time of year doesn't exactly help either.
The most important thing is we get the right man to take us forward.

| I think the choice of a new coach is going to be very, very interesting.
The chairman of the club has stated, that we are going for SL at the next round.
For that to happen, we need a coach capable of doing that.
Also it will be very interesting, to see if the new coach brings any new players in.

| SL next round? Is that a serious proposition, or just so us fans know he's commited to the club. I don't think we're ready for SL yet, on many levels. Crowd size, state of the ground, to name but two...

I also dont think we are ready for it.
Lets me right here...we have no chance of getting in at the next round.
However our chairman says we are going for it.

Unless one of us wins £100m on the Euromillions and decides to invest a quarter of it in a whole new infrastructure for the club.
Even then it would be unlikely, let's be honest our face doesn't fit.

| I quite like it in the Championship for now, anyway! Our ground might be a bit tatty, but at least we have a decent bar to drink in, not just some cold and draughty concrete concourse.

simpsons/simp048.gif I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

| I don't mind them taking their time as long as they get the right person for the job, ie someone who:
- can motivate the players
- produce attractive winning rugby
- get us promoted.
- is keen to bring on local talent and is not afraid to blood the youngsters when appropriate.
- can communicate with the fans.
I can't honestly see us getting into superleague - especially with the way RL is currently run, but I can see why the chairman wants to show the club are ambitious.

I agree. I suppose to us regulars the Chairman's comments sound a bit delusional, but I guess he try to bring people through the turnstyles.
I just hope we win the league outright. I'm abroad for my Sister's wedding at the end of September so would miss the Grand Final.

| According to the leauge express Graham Holroyd & Stanley Gene have put in for the vacant job as coach
at the Keighley Cougars. Also Jason Demetriou,Brad Drew,Gary Thorton,Dave Clark & Matt Bramald.
If i was to give the job to any on the list, it would have to be be Matt Bramald. He as played with the first team
so he will know the players& also the set up at Cougar Park. Who would you choose from the list?

I am not a Cougar supporter, but given that list I would go for Gary Thornton, just for the reason he is an experienced Championship coach with a great deal of passion for the game.

| Keep it in-house if possible, only fair to give the guys who've been with Cougars up to now a crack.
