| What was that today?
Can anyone point out the postives in the performance that shows that keighley are worthy of the championship?, at this point it may be worth mentioning that the lack of effort shown in the first half will lose games when we are in c1
Yes the team fought back to within 1 point of winning but why did they let themselves get into the position they were in at half time?
There were a lot of negative comments from the fans, keighley have let themselves and their fans down today - what a way to end the season! - BOTTOM!

| First half many players looked like they couldn't be bothered.
Barry gave them an almighty bollocking after one of the tries. It was clearly audible and he questioned their pride, passion and commitment. It drew applause from those who heard it.
He must have laid in to them again at half-time because we came out showing much more effort and dynamism.
But we dropped far too much ball, including losing it just about every kick-off we received.
Some of the selection decisions were baffling, again Barry's played himself instead of back up half backs at the club.

| If we think we will sweep teams aside in Championship 1 next season with performances like that then we are in for a shock.
This was not Rhinos we were playing. It was a very demoralised, underperforming Whitehaven. They made us look a joke in the first half. I have never heard Cougars boo'd off, but they were at half time.
The transformation in the second half showed that some people couldn't be bothered in the first 40.
On a serious note if the ref had spotted the forward pass, that lead to them scoring in the first half we would be above Whitehaven. But based on how we played 1st half we didn't deserve to be.
80 minutes.

Had they not bombed two certain tries, we would have not even got a bonus point.
If we play like that against Widnes next week they could well reach 3 figures.

| After all the good work the team has done this season it looks like we are going to finish on a real downer. We should have been applauding the efforts the team has put in, but unless they come up with something special next week the chances are the team will be walking off to silence and an empty stadium.
I can't undestand some of the team selections. Haythornthwaite has been on the bench virtually every match, but when you would expect him to cover for Presley, Barry plays himself. Other alternatives would be Helliwell or Shepard.
What's the point of signing these players if they are not getting a game in the first team even when there are injuries?
Another player who always is good in attack (something we were sadly missing today) is Carl Hughes, but he seems out of favour. Why? He, to me is a quality player who should be on without question.

He looked good in attack for the 2 tries he scored.
2 or 3 clean breaks came down his channel when he was defending though.
All in all though he did do well considering he's a loose forward/stand off who was playing in the centres, one of a number of square pegs we've had in round holes recently. Like a centre at full-back, a scrum half at stand-off and a hooker at scrum-half.

| If Barry Eaton has to play himself Quote: "'don't pass to me I need my breath to complain when you don't cover my missed tackles' '" then we must be really in the mire!
How on earth can he justify to any true Keighley supporter that he is deemed good-enough to play for the full 80 minutes?
Don't we have any back-up in the second team?
Shouldn't he have given these players a chance?
It was the same against Widnes in the NR Cup game - they targetted him and scored -BECAUSE HE WASN'T FAST ENOUGH OR FIT ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it a case of Quote: "'If I don't play then I'll take my ball home'?'"
We started the game, and finished it with 12 fit men - what a debacle!
How on earth can he justify substituting 'Buster' after the crunching tackles that he made and also not playing Jermaine for the full 80? Which planet is he on? Why doesn't he realise that he's past playing - everyone at CP today saw that he was - his display was pathetic (OK - I'm waiting for the two tries that he made - BUT if he had tackled instead of complaining then HE would have saved two tries in the first half!
We have some good players but Barry is no-longer one of them and HE and HE ALONE lost us the game today!
For the sake of the future of the Cougars - PLEASE HANG-UP YOUR BOOTS TOMORROW and give youth a chance!
Like Beckham; you don't know when it is time to retire from playing!
I await the criticism from those who think he's still as great as he was.
As far as I'm concerned, enough is enough!

| In case anyone has forgot, the 2nd team played just 24 hours before sundays game. They had an important game on saturday, so why is Barry going to jepardise their playoff hopes by taking one of their halfbacks. Plus not all the 2nd team are not signed professional.
To say he & he alone lost us the game is rubbish, its a 13-a-side game, not 1-a-side game. The commitment in the 1st half wasnt there & Barry rightly questioned that after Havens 3rd try.
On the subs, when playing, I would have thought that he would leave that to Glen and Matt.
And who set up Hutchinsons try to level the game?, Barry Eaton.

With all due respect to the reserves efforts this season, when there's hundreds of fans paying through the gate to watch the first team, selection should always be prioritised for that.

| When time permits, I pay to watch both. As an ex-coach myself, I refuse to critise Barry & support whatever decision he makes on game day. If the 2nd team have a chance of some silverware, then I wouldnt expect that to be jepardised for the 1st team. Why should it?.
Barry cant be faulted for what he has done with cougars over the last 5 years.

Do you honestly believe that about our coach?
Have you ever talked to him about why he sometimes picks himself???
I have always found Barry to be very approachable and honest with the fans so go on, try it - ask him why he picks himself.
In the after match speech he was man enough to take full responsibilty for the loss, no hiding, no excuses.
Quote: 666 "I await the criticism from those who think he's still as great as he was.'"
Do you think you are the only one who should have an opinion?? This is a discussion forum after all
I personally think he should have hung his boots up last year, but I also believe that when he picks himself it's because he feels he has to, rather than wants to.
When Jones and Presley click they are awesome but unfortunately they do not always do so. Presley in particular has been targeted this season and just seems to have lost confidence and form. There was a rumour in the crowd that he has gone to another club but I have not heard anything to confirm this.
It was a very poor team performance, they all need to have a good look at themselves. Did the forwards feel safe in a new contract? It would have been interesting to see how we would have played had contracts not been offered yet.

Because Andy in this instance it was our chance not to finish bottom. In the admittedly unlikely event of something happening along the lines of what happened with Leigh profiting from Gateshead's financial woes last season it would have been worth a hell of a lot of money to the club.
With Oldham supposedly not allowed to go up also, this result could well come back to haunt us.
