| First Half we played as worse than we have all season, we did well to be only 6 points behind at the break.
Second Half we came out all guns blazing and played some good stuff and got ourselves in to the lead. Then Korki, who had his best game for the club, and Sheriffe came off and the momentum shifted. We couldn't deal with their pack.
Dewsbury got back in to the game with a try scored with James H on the deck semi-conscious, it could be argured the game should have been stopped.
It has to be said the in the last quarter of the game Ritchie Barnett had a complete and utter shocker, and to be honest cost us the game with a series of really poor errors.

| Sadly Richie cost you the game today with two mistakes, a very tight game swung on these errors.
Dewsbury did everthing faster than you today and probably deserved to clinch it in the end, but it was tight.
Have to say that you let them play the ball too quickly at times.

I can't disagree with any of that.

| They were far quicker at everything and we've forgotten how to tackle. Barnett lost his bottle completely and JD was fuming with him when he messed up the offload opportunity.
Dewsbury played well and their forwards won it for them. Still we almost won and didn't deserve to which is always good. Fax pummelled fev away by 60-12, so could be worse.

| Biggest positive coming out of this for me is that JD said on the radio that he had learned by this that "rotation" of the squad is no good - & he'll stop doing it. Good. We were saying that during the match; just pick your best available 17 for every match with the aim of winning it. Other players play in the Reserves and earn a place in the first team. Full stop.
Having said that, we would have managed a win against Dewsbury today but for the key individual errors by a couple of players. The wonder try that put us ahead deserved to win any game.
Hope James H is ok.

Hallelujah. I've just had that same conversation with my Dad and was surprised by the changes today. Play your best team and like you say others have to earn the right for the shirt by performing in the reserves. I didn't go today due to work, but from reading the comments I take it there may be changes again for the Swinton game.

It was worth the trip down just to see that try. That and seeing Gav Duffy chase down that kick in the first half to tackle their player in goal - that was excellent work. Like everyone says, Dewsbury seemed to perhaps just want it that little bit more than we did today - some good work in the forwards (number 10!), quick play-the-balls and quick passing - really did for us, especially in the first half. Yet had it not been for those silly errors in the final quarter we could still have snatched it. Sam Obst had a great game - always a danger. Jy-Mel caught the eye too.
.
Does anyone have any news of James H?

| We looked to be showing the Rams far too much respect early on and this allowed them to gain the upper hand and put some points on the board. The try we scored late on in the 1st half gave us some belief and we played some really good stuff for 20mins in the 2nd half. Korki and Jodie being taken off was the main turning point but Gavin Duffy caught a ball that was going out on the full which they scored from and Barnett just had a nightmare last 15mins. We had a good kicking game and it was an outstanding effort and a good advert for Championship Rugby League.
Unfortunately gavin is proving weak under the high ball and Barnett also needs to look at his game. Other than that we were close to taking the points and Dewsbury were very relieved at the end of the game.

| Plus, somehow, we seemed to allow their No 6 all the time in world to get his damaging kicks away...

| don't really disagree with anything above.
in defence Dewsbury's line speed was excellent.
yet again Richie Barnett wasn't standing deep enough in attack and over ran the ball when the man inside him was tackled.
and how many times can you get away with slowing the game by not turning up for the scrum? answer - as many as you like.
i thought Random Ronnie wasn't too bad (for him) but surely he can't be allowed to natter a kicker to death while he's preparing for a conversion?

| ...and he failed to stop the game when Dewsbury ended up scoring a try after the lead up play had gone close to our man being treated for what looked like a serious head injury - whereas he seemed to let Dewsbury have a two minute break before a late scrum for one of their players to tie a bootlace...

| Iam sorry to have to mention this but i thought the game changer was duffy's error, when the ball was clearly kicked too hard and sailing out on the full gav tried to catch it when there was no need we were 22 - 18 up at that point and dewsbury were on the back foot, there number 10 who was very good started to stop running in tackles, and we had control, then the error and dewsbury exploded into life again.
