| That Wakey shirt is a cracker, do exactly as you say with the chevron and for my 2 penneth worth stick a proper woven badge with the town's coat of arms as the main badge, the KC one can go on a sleeve somewhere, and call it a "Vintage" shirt. Because we all know that vintage is chic at the moment.
Now on a slightly more cynical note. Do you reckon there's any chance of having it launched well before christmas, available to buy and take home there and then when it is launched and being made of decent enough quality material so as that it doesn't look battered after it's been worn 10 times?

| Rather than expecting the club to adopt a "vintage" shirt design - which invariably would be replaced after 1 -2 seasons, could the supporters association not organise the design of one, produce and sell it independent to the club but channel all profits from the sales to the club as per the supporters asscociation aims?
That way it could become the "unofficial" club shirt, retro, possibly polo shirt style, made from a non-match shirt material, which would encourage people to wear it on a more regular basis, not just to matches and therefore increase it's appeal.
I for one regularly wear my black cougars polo shirt (ordered through the club shop) whilst commuting to and from work in London (and receive numerous people looking at the cougars emblem on my chest) and would welcome a similar polo shirt design which was slightly more match shirt whilst still "casual". On my first day of wearing my black polo shirt I even had a comment and got into discussion with my train's guard who incidentally was a Wigan fan.
Lets do it ourselves rather than expecting the club to do it on our behalf!

| Have allways prefered the traditional designs....but maybe green
with red and white chevron would be nice with some human sizes for us big lads lol.
Hopefully the club will get it's finger out and get it on sale
well before christmas so santa can pick them up and the club wil
get some cash injection during the close season.

| seems a good template to base a cougars version on, but not quite, it's still too much like a contemporary match shirt.
I agree with an earlier poster, retro shirt design, town crest, possibly a reference to cougars on the sleeve or perhaps cougars crest on the opposite breast to the town crest, possibly a kisa reference and no more! Retro means retro, i.e. before the time of shirt sponsorship, keep the shirt plain, but attractive.
My other thought was that it shouldn't compete against the official match shirts, therefore make it a shirt that people feel comfortable wearing on a day to day basis, perhaps as a replacement for a regular polo shirt. Not every cougar fan wants to go to sainsbury's in their cougar shirt, or on the golf course but design a retro one well (possibly as a polo shirt or short sleeve old fashioned union style shirt) and people will feel comfortable wearing it all the time, increasing demand and income whilst not competing for sales with the official match shirt.

Photo of new Wakefield shirt. - Would be v good for Cougars - just change the blue & red bits to scarlet and emerald
Agreed - a very nice looking shirt which would be a good one for us in our colours. For me, any Keighley shirt has to have the town's coat of arms on it along with the Cougar badge, one on either side of the chest perhaps. On last season's shirt the word 'Keighley' blended in with the surrounding red of the shirt too much so I often had people, even fans of other RL teams, squinting at the badge to try to work out which team it was. Up here in the north east where it's all football, I get some very strange looks. The fact that the shirt is a Keighley shirt should be made much more obvious.
.
Remember when we had Bradford council's coat of arms complete with the word 'Bradford' written in massive letters on the left side of the shirt where the club badge should be? I have to say I found it difficult to wear that one and often covered up the offensive logo with duct tape

| Great ideas all round , I will mention it at the next ' Pride in the red and green. '
meeting. I prefer the cotton type old fashioned rugby shirt over the idea
of a polo shirt but it always boils down to cost doesn't it . One of the redeming
features of the modern match type synthetc shirts is they keep ythe shape well
and seem to last forever too !

I anyone can cast their mind back about 15 years the club brought out a replica of the the 1937 Wembley red shirt complete with woven badge and sewn on 37 numbering on the reverse, in very heavy 'old fashioned ' material (actually lovely and warm for chilly away trips to Cumbria in Feb , mine still gets the odd 'awayday' now).
If I remember then they came in at something like £45 then which would equate I'm sure to a cost of something like sixty quid now

| Sounds a great idea guys and with all the ideas kicking around I think we could come up with a great design amongst us all. I agree on the idea to do the top through PIRAG (Pride in the Red & Green) as this could raise a nice amount of cash to get us up on our feet.
Just one or two questions, what sort of price would people realistically pay, would we get some designs made up and put it to the members for a vote and we would have to get cracking ASAP to have it ready for Xmas. Would fans be interested in other items for Xmas and what sort of the things are us as fans wanting. Just a thought.

Pricewise, I'd say no more than £45-50. Ideally something that compliments what the club sells, not competes against it. I'd go for something of much higher quality than a standard replica shirt. A cotton one with woven badge like Rach's pic you could easily wear down the pub, and built to last.

| I supposee the fairest way to decide would be a vote at the PITRG meetings.
About 12 month ago I had the same sort of idea and asked about the various shirt
firms ( Stag etc ) , the best quote was a company in Bradford that could provide match
day type replica quality shirts for. £22:50 inc v.a.t. in a design very similar to the Batley one
in colours of choice and a minimum of only 25 shirts in assorted sizes. Anyway , the
Cougars never got back to me after I phoned 3 times and emailed once so That
was as far as I got.
So ..... 25 shirts would be £562:50. or £22:50 each , then if we could find some sort
of local sponsors , say 3 logos somewhere on the shirtfor £100 each then that
would make the shirts £263:50 or £10:50 each. Sell them at say £30 each the squad
builder then gets just shy of £20 ..... minimum of at least £500 .
That will be an idea i'll put forward BUT not ideal for those that
want the quieter more sedate shirt.
Not sure where to get the cotton ones either.... someone else want
to have a dig around for a quote on those ?

| Looked into developing a range of leisure wear when PIRAG started. Emblazon, based in Pitt St, have a brochure which they produce that has a specific rugby section, which includes a retro rugby shirt, and polo section which should cater for what would be required. They already have the necessary required to embroider PIRAG logo so there will be no additional set up expense incurred.
Quote from Emblazon for rugby top similar to that photographed above with 2 embrodiered logos £25 incl VAT comes in kids, and ladies and mens sizes up to4XL
Should a bespoke replica be a choice then Raven Sports in Dewsbury are competitive and have a 3 week lead time whilst others quote 6 to 8. They have a min order of 15 units.
Hope this helps.
