Something should really be done about people being clamped when visiting Cougar Park. They are making vast profit out of clamping, not sure of the legalities of it all but the police are certainly not interested. There were at least four cars clamped today on which seems to be a common road. The industrial estate is unused and the clampers are purely there to make profit.

Cougars should do more, raising awareness so that these clampers get nothing.

Notices where everyone can see them, possibly near the turnstiles, I would like a bus stop type of sign, or even a steward. Notices over the tannoy in some places are garbled and if you are inside you miss them.

Spoilt the day for a lot of travelling fans .......... do think Cougars should make people more aware and stop feeding these parasites.

Thats what she thought,poor lass,I was gutted for her,if id had cutters in my car I wouldve been very tempted to free her,on the plus side the police did come to her aid and said they would support her in her appeal for her money back and also told the clamper himself that his car wasnt road worthy so he got done also!!every cloud eh?!

A load got done there at the Batley game earlier in the season so I put together a parking guide and it is a "sticky" on here.

Whilst I've every sympathy for anyone who's been clamped and this instance seems particularly dodgy there's a club car park a matter of yards away.

Maybe the club should publicise this more, or have an attendent keeping an eye out for people parking there so they don't get done by these fleecing gets.

Is this what they were announcing over the tannoy during the game? Im sure they warned people a few times over parking somewhere?

Is it a club car park though, i was told it was when i emailed the club this week, 20 yards down from turnstile number 9, however its clearly marked up as Magnet LTD business car park, i was just about to turn in there but turned away as i thought the guy on the gate was actually there to stop RL fans going in, he didnt have any Cougar gear on, no hi vis vest, no stewards vest, i actually thought it might have been the business owner and not a club car park attendant, i parked on the rodside further down.

It clearly needs marking up as matchday parking for the Cougars and the business sign covering up.

During the week it's Magnet's car park but the club are allowed to use it for games.

There's usually a guy in a high-viz vest on the gate ready to take the money and a sign put up.

No fault of the Cougars today.

There were several tannoy announcements about the cars being parked on the road and even descriptions of the cars. I clearly remember '..... a white fiat ....' being included and was listening-out for my wife's car.

Tannoy warnings are always given by the Cougars but £160 (if that's what it was) is criminal.

Are there any warning notices?

That said, the police are the greatest criminals since they had double yellow lines painted outside their new HQ for no apparent reason. Can they explain why?

we arrived late 5 min after kick off i nearly parked were the people got clamped,i then managed to squeeze on the 1 pound car park last place in there,so the people who got clamped had nowhere to park,and must have been later than us.i can assure you everywhere we looked to park was chocoblock with widnes cars.

I despise rogue clampers but they must be hired or be given permission by someone. I assume the owners of the business properties are trying to keep access clear but some of the signs are not very well displayed. Maybe it should be taken up with them; they might be as angered by this as us.

Its a poor do that fans (or anyone) is treated in this way, but I have to take exception with one of our "fans" who chose to use this as a public platform to have a go at our club and speak in the most derogatory terms about one of the management team. We ended up having a blazing row.

Even if I agree with some of what he said, there is a time and a place for such things.

Situations like this are bad enough for those involved and maybe those fans with issues should take it up with those concerned face to face.

People anger needs to be directed at the government.

They are the ones who allow it to go on.

I too hate these clampers having been clamped in past although not at cougarpark, to the best of my knowledge the section of road from the business premises whose name I do not recall comes up to edge of royd ings and warning signs are halfway down the road in question, the reason for being halfway down is probably to catch cars out as clampers are ruthless and out to make money and by god do they.

I fail to see how anyone can think the club should be blamed for this in anyway shape or form, at this game and others announcements were made a few times giving car details then after a while further announcements made advising the cars had been clamped the club did all it could as far as I am concerned.

That being said maybe if someone available on matchdays could stand by the area concerned advising folk failing that a sign/billboard advising folk, usually car park is manned by folk in hi vis coats but yesterday there was not, that does not mean folk should wear hi vis just an observation.

Its annoying clamping goes on but as companies that clamp cars now have to be licensed and it may be worth asking to see the license to see if if it is fit for purpose.

Just to let you know after the Batley game we did do some signs and they went up again yesterday morning, however i was told this morning that someone had been seen taking them down.

We will see if we can get something more permanent done and maybe speak to the opposition club in future.

Some people just have to spoil everything.
