| And I thought that there was a God!
We're up against it now as he reffed our last game against Oldham at their new ground and lost it for us, being completely 'old manned' throughout the game!
Eventually he sent-off Buster who was then cleared by the Disciplinary Committee.
After last week's refereeing display at Rochdale I wondered how bad things could get; thought that the only ref who was worse is Laughton and hoped against hope that he wouldn't be allocated our game on Sunday and look what's happened now!

| We gonna have to put up with this for another year?, Who cares who the ref is? I am not a fan of referees, but I and many others know they have a hard enough job to do in ANY sport.
How many times have people watched a game on tv, thought a decision was wrong, then saw the replay and saw that it ws the right call?
Referees don't have the benefit of replays in our division, they only call what they see, and atleast they have the guts to go out there and do the job...

| Rugby_Darren , some refs do get a hard time just for the sake of being the man in the middle .. one of the downfalls of the job . But in Ronnie Laughton we are talking one of the most incompetent b******s that ever walked this planet. People pay good money to watch a game of rugby NOT to watch some clown with an ego bigger than Chris Caisley. Please respect the right for fans to air their views about refs because without us fans there would be no club

| Thank goodness it is at home where at least the season Ticket holders should turn up.As promised in previous topics I would not have gone had it been away. I just hope we do not get him for any away games as I pride myself on going to every match, but I will not waste time and money going to watch him ruin a game whether it be to the benefit of Keighley or the opposition. I can accept any amount of genuine errors by a referee but not a referee that takes over the game. I watched the penalty count in some of the games he referees and it is too coincidental that his is nearly always a good 30% higher than the average.
If you do look at this forum Ronnie, please let the game flow

| Im looking forward to this game as I have good connections with the Oldham gang.
However, im now very concerned what will take place over the 80mins. I feel Mr Laughton does have too much of a say in the game.
That playoff game v Rochdale sticks in my mind.

| There seemed to be a lot of penalties today.
I definitely thought that was a 40/20 in the second half. Anyone know why this was not given?

| Ronnie Laughton had a decent first 20 mins by his standards, then the REAL Mr Laughton turned up and treat us to another display of incompetence (on both sides)
In reply to Connors comment about JD going on the attack , I think i would have given their stand off a good crack if he'd just embedded his elbow in my face.
I understand what you say about his discipline but what happened was just plain sh**house tactics.
As for Richie Barnett dont particularly want to see him in a Keighley shirt again .... bring back Mossy

Barnet made a cracking tackling crossing the field almost Corner to Corner to stop a try and in fairness he may have had the ball stolen a couple of times. Also it is hard in soft mud for a winger to get the speed up.
James H also had a cracking try saving tackle to make in the first half.

How come that everyone in the ground saw the elbow in the face with the exception of the ref and his assistants?
Moving-on, I must ask 'How many chances does Richie Barnett need?'
His speed is OK (without the ball) and I agree that he saved a try with his cross-field chase but he dithers around instead of running. He had the chance this afternoon to show everyone a clean pair of heels but instead he ran across the field and wasted a great chance for another score.
He's far too light and I can now understand why he's played for so many clubs and moved-on.
OK, he scored a try, but anyone could have scored his try this afternoon,it was made by the cut-out pass from Jones(?)

Really?
I thought he was his usual useless self. Blowing up for decisions almost at random. Gave a penalty against Barnett for holding down when I could see from 40 yards away that the Oldham player was holding his arm, Sam Tomkins style. Almost lost control completely in the last 10 minutes of the first half, it looked like a mass brawl was on the cards.
He just ruins perfectly good games with his overly pedantic whistle blowing. Overly pedantic to the point that he blows for things that just don't happen. Then he misses the most obvious offences. I can sympathise with Gavin Duffy, the frustration of his inept refereeing clearly got to him.
He just shouldn't be allowed near a professional rugby field.
