| Rugby League Express confirms 4 new board members who are local businessmen and fans of the club. Gary Fawcett, Andrew Phillips, Graham Kemp and Neil Cullen. thanks for taking over the club.
With the new board I hope the past recent events can be dealt with separetly and should the rfl allow Neil to continue that the new club would not let him have a substantive role because I believe this will not help the club engage the fans like me who blame cougars 2001 as we need a totally fresh start and must avoid being continually linked to the recent events.
I must make this clear my issues with cougars 2001 ltd directors role is purely and simply to do with how this was allowed to happen again and not as the directors of 2001 as individuals.

| I'll stick my marker in now and say that I want the new board to break all ties with the old one.
It's a chance to start things afresh, and they need to build from a position of credibility.

Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.

| Is there a list anywhere of who lost how much money. I don't mind the tax man being screwed but I wouldn't like to think they have shut down 2001 and created 2010 to also screw local suppliers, staff and players.
Also, does the ground and buildings, say the desks, alcohol etc not count as assests which in reality are owned by 2001 and so become the property of the tax man and any other debtors?
Amazing how in rugby you can keep going bust but just carry on.
Personally I think last year was a great year and the directors gave us what we had been asking for. It is them paying the price right now as they no longer have any significant role in a club they helped build. We on the other hand still have the club and team, albeit perhaps straight back into C1 next year.

The last available accounts are up to October 2008, and they don't go into any particular detail as to who creditors are.

Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

I don't like anyone being screwed (even the taxman), it only comes back to haunt you, and ruins goodwill.
The directors might have given us what we wanted but they lied about the financial position, and unless something unforseen caused it, like a(some) sponsor(s) not paying up, that is not acceptable.
I hope we find out just what happened, but I doubt it.
Does anyone know the new board?
Have they the potential to be a good board?
Just being a "fan" does not mean you will make a good director!
However, I wish them success.

I think Graham Kemp has been sponsoring Albion and possibly the Cubs (I will stand corrected if wrong) and I think he's keen on developing the kids side of things.
Somebody may know a bit than me though.

I'm with you on this.
One of the first things I like them to do is to turn on the charm offensive with the fans.
A huge amount of damage has been done in the relationship between fans and the club, it needs repairing.

The thing is, its the fans who once again will be expected to turn up.
We will once again be expected to help keep the [inew[/i club going.
As you say a huge amount of damage has been done (once again).
If you were a local company, would you want anything to do with the Cougars now?

Yes.
If I was an insolvency practitioner.

No I wouldn't to be honest.
The new board have a pretty unenviable task to be honest.
I think they need to be really open and honest about the state of the club in future what their aims are, and their budgets relative to turnover.
We could call it Cougar Glasnost.

Will they all sport cougar shaped birthmarks on their foreheads?

All power to him, if thats the case. A good rugby club should have good links with the kids.

| It would appear that some trust was being built up between the club, fans and local company's.
I fear once again thats all gone.
Will the club be able to built it back up again?
I feel as if the fans, have been taken for a load of mugs.
I for one am sick of it.

Yep and then we'll get taken over by a fat alcoholic who'll pay the players in Stolichnaya.
We'll get hammered every game, and in more ways than one
