I am now the author of six novels which have all been written with a strong Rugby League background and inspired by the old saying about being at work that "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller".
My latest novel is called "Three Good Years", is set during 2006, 7 and 8 with a background of Work, Family Life, Saving the NHS and Rugby League.
This coming Saturday (August 25th) I am doing a book signing in the Airedale Shopping Centre just outside the WH Smith store from 10.30 onwards. I'll also have with me copies of my first novel "One Winter" which is set during that terrible winter of 1962/63 and includes the chapter titled "Keighley Revisited".
Among the 25 chapter titles in "Three Good Years" are
She's a Jehovah's Widnes
Minnie Cotton versus Dewsbury
Telling Stevo about Uno's Dabs
The Church of the Everyday Saints
I follow Marlborough League
Your mother grew up in Tiger Bay
Them bloody stupid pliers
