I'd want both Powell and Wood in my best XIII, ideally with Powell at 6 and Wood at loose.
Both were deceptively strong and quick, had excellent rugby brains and could tackle.
Powell went back to playing at the highest level with Leeds, and Wood won a Challenge cup winners medal for Sheffield in that classic giant killing act against Wigan.
Christian Tyrer had a fine rugby brain but could not match the power and tackling ability of either of the above IMO. I can still remember that cheeky try he scored from a penalty. Whilst the opposition were still arguing amongst themselves he asked the ref if he could go, rather than kicking he ran straight through a static defence who just watched him ground the ball then realise they'd been had
