| Couldn't make the match yesterday but sounds like a poor game, we went to Batley and our defence was a disgrace - it sounds like we were the same against Whitehaven. I don't think you can blame Paul March and also the link with Castleford think he will only be trying his best although would this be his decision or would the directors decide this??
Yes the result wasn't what was expected but we all must stick together and get behind the team for next week as that will be tough
I also don't always agree with Robs post but he as a point I think and people I've spoke to that were at the match were saying the feeling was a bit grim

| SHOCK HORROR !
Burleycougar and ontheterraces have the same opinion on the coach !!!!
Yes I slated Marchy ,and ?
It's called an opinion , posted on a forum ,a place for people to air thier views and
opinions.... which is what I did,not rocket science is it ?
My opinion being that Marchy is not ready to coach at this level. I hope he proves
me wrong,if he does I will be the first to apologise to him face to face. I wasn't nasty about him
and even praised his work at other clubs in ch1 in another thread.
So , mr mystery please respect other peoples OPINIONS and leave the petty childish
'booty kissing' remarks to yourself please

| Hi all, first post on here but been a cougars fan for around 20years.
I think there were a lot of positives to come from yesterday’s game of which in my opinion could have gone either way. Given the conditions it was always going to be a tight scrappy affair for both sides with very little possibility of flowing rugby.
Keighley did not take real advantage of playing down hill first half, but did pressure the opposition on quite a few occasions only to lack the cutting edge of a little grubber kick through. The only real break I recall Whitehaven having for the full game was that where they scored there second try. Compared to the performance at Batley this must be encouraging that breaks of our defensive line were few and far between.
I do agree Richie Barnett had a dismal first half but luckily for us, most of his handling errors were down in there half so didn’t come to much despite the loss of possession. Very poor ability for a winger at championship level. He just seems to lack any motivation & appears to just make the numbers up.
Second half I felt we worked well to get back into the game & if not for a little more patience rather than kicking the ball away, then we could have snuck a win. At first glance & I haven’t seen a replay yet but I felt that Whitehaven’s 3rd try was kicked out by a cougars player before there was any form of grounding but someone may know different.
Duffy had a good break on the left of which was well intercepted by a Whitehaven player, and I thought we were going to sneak a try down the left in the dying minutes if not for a little greediness but all in all I felt there were many positives to take from the performance.
Only things I felt we lacked were a playmaker/positional kicker & a winger to replace Barnett but encouraged compared to the Batley game. Once the dryer periods come then we may see some of the flowing rugby that March has mentioned.

God there is so much personal bitching going on on this forum, everyone is entitled to there opinion, but when people directly attack another individual who has just started in a new position (Marchy) it absolutely stinks!
He lost 6 First team players before he had even started in the job!
Then with the injury list at present with Mossy, Killer and Rawlins and a couple more, ad those to the 6 players at the end of last season an you have nearly all first team regulars out!
I know we have had the odd new signing but no one with a vast amount of experience, but i do know given the situation with the club and how much effort they have done to boost season tickets, you can't say they aren't trying to get people through the turnstyle.
Its only the second game of the season with a limited first team squad to pick from, its early days and if not anything Marchy deserves a chance to prove himself with a full fit squad and when we have i think then the results will speak for themselves.

| @ Hughesie
You're spot on about 'havens 3rd try , not far from where I was stood
and it was NOT grounded properly.
